Where'd you take those numbers from? The book of unwritten law of supercars?

If the EVO was based on a purpose built platform, then maybe. Though you might argue about the quality/duarability of some of its parts like the interior finish.

But, as long as the EVO is based on the lancer body... then definately not. IMHO performance alone does not make a supercar.

P.S. I feel dirty for saying this. I'm glad that my EVO can't read. Otherwise... my answer is YES it a Supercar. YES YES YES!!!

Man I used to sell (Honda) Accord Hybrids, and I wouldn't believe eveyrthing I read about thim if you think they have similar straight line performance to an Evo.

Lack of any creature comfort? Come on, seriously. I know you're one of those types that is always very critical of the car but there's no basis for this at all.

A supercar is a term used for a sports car, typically an exotic or rare one, whose performance is highly superior to its contemporary sports cars. The proper application of this term is subjective and disputed, especially among enthusiasts. In addition, the use of the term is dependent on the era; a vehicle that is considered to be a supercar at one time may not retain its superiority in the future. Nonetheless, the automotive press frequently calls new exotic cars "supercars". Also see the list of supercars to help understand the term subjectively.

Yeah, I don't think comfort is a big deal for a supercar ... Has anyone say in a Lotus Elise? Those seats SUCK! Lots of people would call that a supercar.

I would say no. There are many different ways to analyze this- production numbers, price points, rarity, HP, resale, etc. But it is one heck of a car for the price.

When I think Supercar class, I think interior to match performance , which the Evo doesn't have.
Also, a stock Evo is not supercar in performance, however, with minor after market modifications, it will compete with and hang with any supercar out there.
Is there a price tag criteria in order to be called a "supercar"? If so, is it at least over $100,000? Well then, think about the Corvette ZO6. Is the ZO6 a supercar? I tend to feel it is, eventhough it is not as expensive as most "supercars".

With all that being said, I Love my EVO!! It fits my personality!! I wouldn't trade it for a Lamborghini or Ferrari. (eventhough some of you might think I'm crazy)LOL

In stock form, NOT even close...But with $20K in mods, the Evo becomes what I would call a "SUPER CAR".
