Is the Lancer Evo a supercar?
MY SUPERCAR CRITERIA:
-engine has 6-12 cylinders
-costs at least 100k
-not only expensive to buy, but also maintain...
-a car you would not use as a daily driver
Considering the EVO doesn't meet any of these criteria, I would have to say no... it is not a supercar. Although, it certainly can hang with one... EVO vs Lambo

Regardless of price or looks......I feel that if you do not put the EVO at least close to if not supercar statis then if you are someone that owns a supercar $$$$$$ than due to performance of the EVO I would be embarassed to stand next to an EVO driver and say that my Lambo, NSX, etc is a supercar!!!!
No problem! You are sticking words right back into my mouth. The EVO in stock form is nothing to gawk over that is my opinion. The interior is drab and plain, the car looks econobox cool, it runs low 13's stock with a decent driver, and can be found everywhere for 25k used nothing supercar about it.
With the right mods it can be a great all around people hauling sedan that break many a "real sports car" drivers ego, but stock it is barely a stock mustang killer let alone a supercar.
No more discussion here we can take it to PM.

. It's a mitsu crapbox that performs well for its price. I love my evo to death, but i'm not delusional.
It's a supercar in comparison to 95% of the cars on the road, but considering the fact that it is mass produced, incredibly inexpensive in comparison and lacks the style, exterior, interior and performance of a supercar, you can't really call it one.
It's more like an "inexpensive supercar" if there was a category for it, similar to the 3kgt vr4, 300zx tt, and supra tt when they were around back in the day. In my eyes, the EVO is the only car that represents the spirit of that era.

nell no the evo is no super car.
first of all stock the evo is very slow. only traps about 100mpg inthe 1/4 mile
and even though with mods the evo can be as fast and handle as good as supers cars it still will never be one
it does not look as clean and amazing as super cars. its not as rare. the interior and many parts of the car is very cheep. super cars go like 200mpg. and come on the evo is a 2.0 4 cylinder, theres nothing super carish about that.
