The M5 may have supercar like performance but..... its still not a super car!

 

So when the Porsche Panamerica comes out, with a V10 from the Carrera GT under the hood, and it costs over 150K, it'll just be another sedan?

To me a totally stock Evo is not a supercar, but an aftermarket modified one is, like the FQ400. In my opinion a supercar is any car that has a performance level of a supercar, no matter the make, nationality, number or doors, rarity, price, looks of both the interior and exterior. The logic a car must have two doors to be a supercar or sports car is totally inane.

Supercars like some Porsches, Lambos, Ferraris and Mosler don't even have a full interior, sound deadening, AC, radio and power windows. These strip down versions a purely about performance. With cars like these in most cases form follows function, especially in the case of the Ferrari FXX. It's all about performance.

The Ferrari FXX is totally gutted, it's about several hundred pounds lighter than a regular Enzo. It's whole look is all about functional aerodynamics, which is why it is considered buy many as butt ugly. Usually a super performing machine is not sexy, but a combination of functional performance in terms of power, handling and some ugly aero, ala Ferrari Enzo/FXX.

So, in summary a supercar in my opinion is any car that has super performance.

Price does not matter. To me rice is non-functional BS applied to any make of car. If I put a functional wide body/aero kit on an Evo which would increase downforce and grip I'm all for it!I will totally not care if it's butt ugly like the Enzo. I will rock it all day long. Now if I put some cheap crap intake that robs power on a Porsche or some dumb wing that increases drag, but not downforce than that's rice.

 

Sorry, but anyone who votes yes to this question is a F-A-N-B-O-I. I love my Evo, but isn't a supercar by a long shot. I don't consider a C6 Z06 a supercar either, and its a lot more "super" in performance than an Evo.

An Evo is an econobox, yet a very tunable one.

 

Why is the Corvette C6 Z06 not a supercar? What is your logic behind that reasoning? I still stand by my statement that any modified car or unmodified car is a supercar if it performs like a supercar. To me the C6 Z06 is an all American supercar with the biggest bang for the buck.
