Is Lancer windshield same as Evo windshield?

I need to replace my windshield thanks to a spreading rock chip and was just wondering (just like the title says) if the Lancer windshield is the same as the Evo windshield?

They are different, but not for the reasons you stated. A regular Lancer windshield will fit an Evo just fine. They are different parts however in that the Evo windshield is thinner and lighter than the regular Lancer.

You have to order the Evo windshield from the dealer. There are no aftermarket replacements, unless you want to use an aftermarket regular Lancer windshield.

Note that the Lancer windshield is actually more expensive than the Evo windshield from the dealer. However, if you went with an aftermarket Lancer windshield, that should be much cheaper than the dealer's Evo windshield...

Thanks for clearing up the misinformation before this got out of hand Andrew.

The lancer windshield is thicker and wont crack as easily, but as said before its heavier. like 4-8 lbs or something like that.

Because the shape and size of interchangable fenders and hoods shouldn't have any affect on the size of the opening where the windshield goes - particularly when they are built on the exact same chassis?

Just a guess.
