have the same one. however i am not happy with the power steal as at my mod level the restriction is higher. I am not sure about using a testpipe thought...probably after easter i will get a high end metalic catalytic converter... (randomtech, sard, etc etc)

I have the Buschur and the cat works great. The slip fit is fine unless you plan to pull the exhaust often. I have a question about cpevo setup. What type of ECU are you runiing? Is it a stock ECU with flash?

I am going to Dyno in the next week for a reflash I have stage 1-4 plus the 20G-9LT. First Flash AFR was way off we got it figured out now. Tell me about your setup?

Regarding being legal, it goes somthing like this... "If the vehicle is more than eight years old or has more than 80,000 miles, and a legitimate need for replacement has been established and documented. ""

See the following for more details

IIRC, an aftermarket CAT is only legal in CA and then only if it has a CARB number. All other states require that the stock cat is replaced with another OEM cat.

In California you can only replace the stock cat with an aftermarket one if your stock cat is not fully functional anymore. Like what Ludikraut said it would also need a CARB number. IIRC the fine for not running a cat would be $15,000 to $20,000. If you replace the stock cat to a high-flow-cat while the stock cat is still working properly you will probably get the same fine.

How did go about in doing this in Cali? Was your stock cat not working anymore?

My car is registered in TX and I have to pass the CA emission test because of the Navy. I dont have to pass the visual test. I think my cat is from Magnaflow. I had a shop make it and I dont know for sure what the brand is.
As for replacing it before the 8 yrs 80,000 miles my factory cat got damaged and needed to be replaced.
