its been snowing here in chicago alot and im not about to take the evo out to get wrecked, Im gonna get some all season tires so i wont have to worry. I was reading the owners manual recently just for the heck of it and it says not to run the advans in snow period.

I agree, it is AMAZING that the Evo is the complete package, mine has been in Ice time trials, autocross, and road course events, and excelled at each (Fast time of day in ice time trial and autocross...fastest of run group road course). On top on that, I use it as my one and only daily driver in snow, rain, dry pavement, even two tracks getting to my favorite hunting spots. Not many cars can do all that (Evo, STi). In my opininion it is because the car had an engineering focus in development rather than trying to meet the requests of consumer focus groups...my car has exceeded my expectations in all ways.

I'm in vt where the roads are crap all the time, with the stock tires. As long as you don't drive the car like a retard you should be fine. Just don't boost in the corners, or you're likely to have the ***-end slide out on you.

Yea, it's crazy out here in Cleveland....I wanted to get my evo out too, but decided not to push my luck, we've got what - 3 feet today and more expected tomorrow? I'm afraid about the bumper. Weather is crappy outside, opened a garage door - my Evo looks beautiful all washed, so I decided to leave it that way. But who knows about tomorrow.
