ES in the snow

Ok, I bought a 2006 Lancer ES for a daily driver, and especially for winter. My EVO gets through the snow awesome, but the ES 5sp gets stuck in about 2-4" of snow. Has anyone else had problems in the snow with their FWD lancer?

Never with it getting stuck. No offense but you can't expect a FWD Lancer to handle in snow like an AWD Lancer Evolution, Lancers have less than half the power, and less traction since only two wheels are moving you. From my experience, FWD lancers are great on snow, but you gotta be sure to drive it like a FWD car, and to take it slow due to weather conditions. Gradual acceleration and braking ahead of time will help keep you on the road and keep you from spinning or getting stuck in reasonable amounts of snow.

I can barely get out of my parking spot. It's so bad that I don't even have to use the gas when I let off the clutch... the wheels just start spinning. I wonder if it's the stock tires. They're Yokohama 376s? Are Kuhmo's any better?

And I haven't really had a problem with spinning... or any problems once I get going, it's just starting.

You need better tires and an adjustment in the driving style.
