Open Vented hoods + snow = ??

ok... nothing has happened to me yet but I was wondering if anything has happened to you guys at all. Here in MN we get snow.... I mean crazy snow... just hasnt been that way in the past 3 years. but usually its MAD snow. because I've been thinking about putting an Open vented hood on my Lancer because the stock one doesnt look all that great and stuff. but anyways, has any of you guys experienced massive snow, rain, or hail onto those hoods, because 3 days ago there was about 6 inches of snow ontop of my car, so when I DO get a vented hood, will it be ok if the snow gets trough?? if not, how do I prevent it, or slow it down?

You don't have to worry about that. Just make sure that the vent is placed in the right place. It snows in Japan too and their Evos don't seem to mind snow on their hoods.

i asked the same question a few months ago and they told me it will only damage your car if the water gets into your intake manifold otherwise your ok. So maybe duct tape over the vents?? Well also Accolades hoods come with hood vent covers, they slide in under the hood.

Uh...the intake manifold is not even under the vents. It's more towards the firewall. The exhaust manifold is under the vents, but not the intake manifold. I think you were talking to a bunch of idiots. Don't listen to people who can't even tell you where the intake manifold is correctly located. I don't think Mitsubishi would be making vented hoods if there was a remote chance of it starting a lawsuit so don't sweat it kid. You're fine.

vented hood+ snow/rain = more maintainence
just make sure to wipe down your bay every now and
then it wont hurt at all. i will be getting vented c/f
hood and that was one of my dislikes but its worth it
to have it breathing
