But with moving to Las Vegas I'm proably going for the 5% all around.

i have gotten windows tinted in winter and summer and the only thing they say is to let cure a day or 2 more before putting your windows down when it is cold

I've tinted windows for many years now both professionally and "on the side"

Yes, it's absolutely fine to tint your windows in colder weather. It may take a little bit longer for the film to cure properly. Things such as water bubbles, haze and the ability to roll down your windows will take a while. However, in 40 - 50 degree weather, only about 3 - 4 days. But, you'll have no problems.

I know a few guys that are tinting windows up north in the snow in 10 degree weather.

... and let me add, it's not "better" to get them done in the spring or summer time. Window tinting is window tinting no matter what time of year you get it done. It's not like the film falls off in colder temps.

In all honesty, it's probably a better idea for you to get it done now that it's the "slow season" and a lot of window tinting places are cheaper in price due to that. As opposed to later in the "busy season" where everyone moves their prices up to meet supply and demand.

5% all the way around is illegal in any state in the US.

I've read so many stories where people have hit pedestrians at night because they thought they were cool and got extremely dark window film on their car and couldn't see out their windows at night on a road with no street lights. There have been 2 cases of this in the past few months where I live. One of the cases was a fatality. The kid couldn't see the pedestrian when he was turning a corner.

Plus, lately, more and more police are starting to carry meters with them. You may have been safe in the past, but from now on it's going to be a lot harder to maintain illegal film. In my state, they're even considering jail time for some offenders.

Chance it if you want to, but when you get slapped with a $500 ticket, or fail to see a pedestrian and hit them and you end up in jail, don't blame anyone but yourself.

as long as it is in a heated garage when they put them on and if you park your car in a garage then you are fine. just can't put the windows done for a couple weeks which shouldnt be a problem with the cold temps
