My friend just had his Audi A4 tinted in 0-15 degrees F weather... They told him to just wait at least 5 days before opening the windows, if not more. And he opened them yesturday after 5 days and they are perfect

I've read so many stories where people have hit pedestrians at night because they thought they were cool and got extremely dark window film on their car and couldn't see out their windows at night on a road with no street lights. There have been 2 cases of this in the past few months where I live. One of the cases was a fatality. The kid couldn't see the pedestrian when he was turning a corner.

Plus, lately, more and more police are starting to carry meters with them. You may have been safe in the past, but from now on it's going to be a lot harder to maintain illegal film. In my state, they're even considering jail time for some offenders.

Chance it if you want to, but when you get slapped with a $500 ticket, or fail to see a pedestrian and hit them and you end up in jail, don't blame anyone but yourself.
Now I'm proably going to come off as an @$* but you know what thats complete BS. To blame it on window tint is just stupid. First off have you ever had a vehicle with 5%? I had it in my S-10 and yes at night backing up is a bit more difficult until you get used to it, but if you use some common sence you shouldn't have an issue.

Second off what ever happend to waring reflective clothing at night being a pedestrian? Oh I know why it doesn't look cool enough our isn't fashionable. I have never hit anyone with our without window tint. The closest I have come to doing so was with no window tint at all. So please don't blame it on the tint.

Third I really don't like my stuff to be in plain view, So because most people are very inconsiderate of other peoples things I will want darker tint. Second off to this part I want to keep my car a bit cooler when the Temps get up to around 118F.

My fourth argument and statment to this is in most states you can have any tint you want on the windows excluding the driver and passanger side windows. Which the darkest legal limit I believe is 15%.

Lastly before you rip my post apart think about this... I really don't care if it is legal. But thanks for your consern for my well being

Here's how 20% looks from the outside at night underneath a bright light. The tint is by 3M. There is a 3M logo, but it's on the rear windshield. You can rub it off with alcohol, but I choose to leave it seeing how it doesn't even obstruct your view because you hardly see the logo. Pics are 1600x1200.

Outside looking in, it's hard to see the person in the car. Inside looking out, is better. Still get blinded by people with those annoying blue HID wannabe bulbs, but it's a lot better than with no tints.

johnson is the one i been used for 6 years.
they are pretty good film for the price/
but not as good as 3M.
3M WILL NEVER FADE COLOR .
but 3m is more difficult to install and very sensitive film i must say,
i wouldnt say 3M IS BEST FILM. try CPFILM. LIKE FORMULAR ONE OR LLUMAR~

I'd completely disagree with this...

A) It does not matter how cold it is outside. You can still get your windows tinted as long as the person doing it isn't doing it outside. However, I have no idea why anyone would hire an outdoor window tinter... You're almost begging for debris in your tint. Like I said, there are shops up north that are tinting cars in 10 degree weather with no problems.

B) It doesn't matter if it's raining. Again, it typically will be done in a shop out of the elements anyway. What matters at that point is how well the tinter keeps up their shop.

C) Do not wash your car. You will be utterly disappointed afterwards. The reason for this is because you will have soap streaks all down the side of your car from where the window tinted sprayed the outside of your windows to cut the film pattern. Yes, the film is hung on the inside of the window, but we use the outside of the window to cut a pattern and we have to wet the window with a soapy solution to do so. If your car is all nice a clean, you'll just have to wash it again to get the soapy streaks off. Plus, let me add that tinters such as myself that do back windows in 1 piece, will "dry shrink" the back window. This involves using baby powder to powder the back window and shrink the window film to mold to the curvature of the window. Baby powder may be on your car... better to wash it after the fact because of this. Most tinters will NOT wipe down your car because they don't want to scratch it.

I ALSO USE BABY POWDER AND 1 PIECE ALL THE WAY (including mits eclips new old model). and baby power is last year. i use wax now.

all the tinters out there is not like us perfectionist.
there is lots of sloppy tinter out there who is lazy and dont wanna clean glass good, and also there is lots of dusty enviroment tint shop.
i just want people to have cleanest job as possible.

i have a question for u.
would u prefer to tint on dusty, dirty car or just freshly washed clean car?
which car u think it would come out better and cleaner if u tint on those two cars?
and lets say u dont have gate on ur shop.
which day is better for u to tint the car ? the rainny day( all the dust is settle down to the ground cause of the rain)? or windy dusty day?

you know what i am trying to say here?

and also question about tinting on cold weather.

which tinter u think perform better?
tinting on cold day who is shivering his hands and complaint it is too cold and my job sucks? OR tinting on nice warm day who is enjoying weather and take his time and tinting with his full energy and passion?

u get it?
we tinter are not robot.
