30,000 mile maintenance?

The owners manual says to change the transfer case fluid at 30,000. I took my car in for the 30,000 and the service sheet says nothing about the T/C fluid (diaqueen) change. Shortly after that check-up I heard the whine. I took it in to the dealer and they said they found metel in the t/c fluid. They had a Mitsu rep come out and look at it and then they said they wont cover it because of the aftermarket parts installed. I dont think they put the right fluid back in. Does anybody know what the sevice sheet should say for the diaqueen fluid?

Im going to mitsu soon to talk to them soon about it so I could use some ammo against them, Thanx.

I would flush out your fluid and use diaqueen asap.

I would then prepare for the worst and get it rebuilt by sheptrans/teamrip, I don't think there is anyway you can prove that Mistu techs used the wrong fluid, and the aftermarket parts make it extremely convenient for the dealership to place blame on the aftermarket parts instead of their techs.

I hope you get it sorted out, bump.

How loud is the whine on a scale of 1-10?

Yes, with Mitsu you are guilty until proven innocent.

The only fluid they have on hand to use is the mitsu fluid, there is no reason they wouldnt have used the diaqueen. Thats what readily available in the shop.

You went to the dealer with all the parts listed in you sig.? If you did, then good luck, there is now way you going to get to reimburse you. You probably have your warranty voided. Even though is an ***, I agree at this point. Those parts could have broken your T/C. Plus they have diaqueen only there, so there is no way they used something wrong.

In this case you're wrong

This is why the dealership shouldn't be trusted to do any type of maintenance. If you want it done right, do it yourself. Screw the warranty, and screw their brainless grease monkey mechanics.

Some dealers dont even know what Diaqueen is. I went to a couple trying to order it. I was like than what do you put in EVO T/Cs and Diffs? They said fluid that comes in a big drum. I was like you guys are crazy and I left.

I buy my Diaqueen online now.
