Aren't you meant to keep the RPMs low (<5k) druing the break in period?

if it doesnt feel any different while driving or sounds diff. then dont wory about it
just pay more attention to your shifts next time.

It's call the 'Money Shift' cause it usually costs you a lot of money to fix your car.
It when your going let say on third at 6500 rpm and your are trying to shift to fourth but instead by mistake or machanical failure you shift to second over reving your engine.

It's when you shift "all over her face".


OP, when do you plan on doing a compression test? I doubt you hurt anything. Then again, 4 seconds at over 8k plus raises the risk. Test it or have a mechanic charge you $30 to do it for you.

Like everyone else said do a compression test. It is impossible to diagnose if it is ok or not from your story.
