yeah if u launch at 5500rpm you will get wheel spin, but u will also go forward....very fast.....just slip the clutch out, but no to much....u will smell ur mistakes, and be prepaid to fork out $600+ on a new clutch + install....it will happen on stock clutch....alothough ive heard of some ppl getting about 30 or so launchs at the track on the stock clutch. but u have an 06 Evo....all u got to do is push in clutch, and hold the gas down. DONT HOLD IT DOWN LONGER THAN appx 3sec....there is some rumor that it is not the best thing for the car....

last thing....you will know when u have it right...cuase it will be the best ride of ur life.....u will feel the blood go to the back of ur head....

no they're right, 6k for me.....it spins a little but for the most part, its like a rocket. the 05' and up evos have a 5k rpm launch control right from the factory.

Try to do some searching on 2-step. You will find everything you need to know about launching.

your 2 step is probably set for 5500 and it will bog on a prepped track. Need to bump it up to 6000 so that you can spin a little off the line.

As far as the people spinning @ 5500.. through first and second are you referring to launching on the street with cold tires? Because street vs prepped dragstrip are two entirely different things.

USDM Evo IX's have a 2 step set at 5500 unless this has changed in the version 16 ECU image.

USDM Evo's come with the top speed limiter set to 510Km/hr (316mph). Expecting to go faster than that?

yes they are most likely talking about launching on a cold road, i know for a fact up here in NY you can't even launch around 5000 without spinning when it is 20 degrees out. prepped track is much different.

How do people only get 30 launches on stock clutch? I went through over 100-150 launches on the stock clutch, and the shop who removed it said it still has a bit of life on it. I just wanted it gone because it dosent hook immediatly off the line. (Thats more the stoopid restrictor pill than anything, but whatever). I was cutting high 1.7 shorts, but it had a lot more in it. Two step was set up for 6600 RPM's.

You have the stock to step which is set at 5k rpms. Push the clutch in and put the car in 1st gear. Make sure you are not rolling at all, youhave to be completely stopped and raise the revs till it hits the 5k limiter and when it does push the pedal to the floor, slip the clutch and hold on lol.

Btw I raised my 2-step to 6k rpm.
