Why Evo Owners Sell?
This question goes out to all evo owners that are currently thinking about or actually trading in or selling their evo, and to all previous evo owners that have sold or traded in their evos. My question is why cuz I have been seeing evo's all over the US selling like hotcakes and even here on evom. I just want an understanding because I cant see myself purchasing an Evo then spending a butt load of cash upgrading it then going through the headache of parting out the upgrades and trying to get stock parts back so I can sell it or trade it in. I mean that just sounds like a whole waste of money that a person can save themselves the aggravation and just burn about 60k in a bucket and then light a cigar from the fire. I said the previous statement because I've come across some partouts in the forsale section of evom that Im like WTF when looking at the prices of the aftermarket parts the person is selling trying to make his money back + he wants the buyer to give him freely stock parts + shipping (eg. ARC intercooler for 1k+ stock evo IX intercooler + shipping). Just what are some of the reasons that you evo owners or previous evo owners sell the car or trade it in?
Persoally I get bored of cars quick, I still like Evo's and may one day buy another but I sold my 03 and got an 03 Cobra and with less money than I had nto my Evo my Cobra pus out twice the hp. I dont regret it at all.
IMO (and this inst going to be a popular answer) I don't think they are built as well as they should be for the price. Yeah yeah, they have awesome performance but many bits seem to be a bit weak for a "rally bred car". I really think the STi is built much better. My previous car was a WRX w/ 42k miles and it didnt have 1/10th the rattles and sqeaks my Evo does at 8k miles.
Plus, they get terrible fuel mileage and attract a lot of unwanted attention be it from the po-po or crooks.

I logged 90K miles on an 03 evo, made 100whp over stock, and also paid over 10K in repairs mods tires etc over the time I owned the car. I had the car paid off and just decided to trade it in for something much faster and more refined. The evo is super fun and I would buy one again in the future.. but only If I could pay cash and just have it as a rainy day car. I dont think there is another car that can replace the evo.. but that not really a good thing all the time(police problems, comments at work, most girls dont like it, no respect from old people)
I will never buy a car with the philosophy of "Im gonna mod it to make it fast"... and then get nothing back in return.. its just dumb and high mileage modded evos were not fun to drive everyday of the week.
