Should I Get an Evo IX or Infinity G35 Coupe??
i agree... everyone gets a certain attitude when u first buy an evo...so a teenager having one is bad news
look man as they say theres an *** for every seat. however i think i agree with the advice to keep the teggy. mod it out a bit. for 5 grand you can make a really nice car that will last you all through college till you get your own job. this is my second evo. the first one was bought for me and the second one i bought with my own money. a "bought by someone else evo" just doesnt get nearly as much love. i dont know why but it doesnt. so keep your teggy and then get an evo when you can get it yourself.
i dont think he wants the integra. you guys all the know the feeling. when your ready for a new car, thats it. go the G35, its a great looking car that suits you.
what are you planning to do after all this EVOM advice???

Hey guys this is an extremely tough choice for me and I came across this great forum as a few of my friends have Evo IXs. I'm getting another car in 2 months and please give me as much input as you can. Here's an introduction on me. I'm torn between a 2007 white Evo IX or a black G35 Coupe 6-speed. I been setting my mind on the Evo for the last year and absolutely am obsessed with the Evo, but recently, my parents who said "We won't let you move onto a luxury car yet" changed their minds :]
I'm a 19 year old college student and currently drive an Acura Integra but want to move on. I know quite a lot about cars and know all the specs and drivability between the Evo IX and the G35 Coupe and just CANNOT decide b/t the 2 so please help.
Moneywise, my parents take care of the maintenance costs, gas, and insurance so I don't have to pay for that.
This is my thoughts on the cars.
Evo Pros: Wicked 0-60 speed and overall speed GREAT performance. Handling is great and factory turbo that is just so sexy. IMO best car buck for buck PERFORMANCE-wise under 35k. I've always loved turbo and always wanted to see how it would be. I'm young and would definitely want to experience something like an Evo.
Cons: I don't really race and drive pretty safe overall and people will still look at me as a kid who just has a fast car. There's no point in getting an Evo if I'm not an "aggressive" driver like most Import people right??
G35 Pros: Quick, luxurious, great drivability, BaLLiN!!, sexy, and has speed when I want it. It's a luxury sport car and people look at me as a kid that is more "professional and classy." People wouldn't want to race you, cut you off, or always looking to run you as much as if I were in an Evo.
Cons: I'm 19 and not sure if I wanna get out of the import scene yet and always wanted to see how turbo felt and the Evo is like a samurai's sword: it's connected 100% to the driver. I'm torn between having fun at this age still or going onto luxury sport and if I got the G35 I wouldn't push it and stuff I don't think it's meant to do that.
PLEASE HELP ME ON YOUR OPINIONS EVO-M MEMBERS ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

The Evo is not a particularly exciting car (relax Guys I own one) when compared to a G5.
You buy an Evo because of certain things that cannot be explained. You must want an Evo and nothing else will compare around $30K once you test drive an Evo.
I suggest to first buy a home in this type of market. Then refi later, pull some cash out (while leaving some equity), then using that money for a nice down payment to lessen your bills while paying for school. For me, I'm all about four doors as I have children. Evo FTW!!!!
And that's the joy of living in America and what makes us strong. We can disagree.
Enjoy.
BTW, I've been dying to see a pictures of a Countachs pinkslip on an Evos engine bay - wink.

if you're open to other suggestions, may i suggest either 1. Honda Fit (it's seriously a lot of fun to drive and hauls more stuff than either of those cars and will leave you more money at the pump for in-n-out 4x4 animal styles instead of ramen) or 2. a toyota tacoma of any year. the fit is a great car to learn how to drive should you become interested in more dynamic cars later on in life and may just satiate your appetite for "the import scene."
i absolutely would never regularly park an evo or any other car i cared about on a college campus.
by the way, college wasnt thaaat too long ago for me. wow, i wish i had an evo then. motorsports has been in my blood since the first time i played with an RC car. get the car that'll give you a hard on while you're sitting in class and make you skip out early to go driving.
Trust me if you get a Evo you will eventually want to drive fast!!! Who buys a Ferrari and never gets on it once in a while
Its a high performance piece of machinery. Then after that comes the modding. Its addicting and you will never be finished
A G35 maybe be a better choice, good handling, power and luxury. Different class than a Evo imho. If I were to do it again I would still buy a evo. The performance is just amazing!!!
I can get a luxury car when I get older

What your parents SHOULD do is use that money as a downpayment for a mortage and have you live in that condo or whatever while you're in college. The market should start to go back up so by the time you're out of college, sell the condo, and the money gained will have paid for a good amount of your college, if not all of it.
Now for you, between the Evo and G, get the G. Reasons: the evo is only good at one thing and that's going fast. It rides stiff, has a crappy interior, cheap *** radio, lots of road noise, a big ricey wing that attracts cops, the most expensive car to insure (I would guess $300 a month for you), shiet gas mileage, and expensive as hell for replacement parts.
Stock for stock, the G isn't much slower in a straight line, no turbo lag, obviously a nicer ride for daily driving (stereo, interior, etc), probably cheaper insurance, ~ same gas mileage, less attention grabbing from the cops. etc.
