Test pipe?
Hey what will the difference in sound be with a reg. test pipe vs a resonated test pipe? im trying to decide between the 3 AMS TBE choices.
1. w/ hi-flow cat
2. w/ reg. test pipe
3. w/ resonated test pipe
1..2..or 3???

Almost unnoticeable, it depends a lot on your overall TB. On my cars the Greddy Evo II already quiet down the car a lot.
I had my Evo 8 running a test pipe(non resonated) and I had the Evo 9 with a resonated test pipe and they sound about the same,.
The HFC will make a big difference though, it is a piece that actually quiets down significantly. I also have this set up as well.

yea iv been reading on here that a test pipe will free up about 5-15 hp, i had a JIC Ti exhaust w/ a test pipe wehn i had my 350Z and that was LOUD! so i dont think an evo w/ 1 could be any louder then that was
The loudest is a straight test pipe, then the resonated test pipe then the HFC being the quietest one.
I have in hand :
3" test pipe
3" test pipe resonated
3"HFC
Plus I had another Works 3" HFC.
