1mad evo- At your age, I would reccomend you ask that question to someone you actually KNOW who is responsible and has enough life experience to give you reasonable advice. None of us know your situation well enough to give you a definative answer. It is a big step though and you should not make the decision lightly. Astons, Lambos and Ferraris are not just cars-they're life-altering investments.

No offense to the OP but your post doesn't make much logic.
i totally agree with what this guys says. if you can afford a supercar than why can't you keep your evo also? believe me, if you really had the money for a supercar you would not be on this board asking if you should sell your 20k car but yet you would just go get your supercar and move up 10 levels from where you are at. reality check, bro!!!!!!

My age i suppose has a huge factor in my decision too, im 19 gonna turn 20 in few months, i feel i might be too young for something like a 911 or aston?

any advice/throughts from people who have been in a similar situation and what they deicided in the end would be muchly appriciated
Well good for you. First of all, I wasn't torn between an Aston Martin or Porsche, yada, yada, yada...I grew up around those car's. I made the decision to get an EVO because it was a driver's kind of car; loud, rough, and in your face. But hey that's just me, you could be torn apart between a McLaren Mercedes SLR and the EVO and I still wouldn't care. What you should really consider is your personal expense and the cost association with the type of car you're buying or modifying. Consider that and you should know exactly where you stand. It'll also earn you more respect from the EVOM community.

If it were me, i'd get the vantage... I love that new aston, nice and compact, beautiful body lines (rear fenders and rear end are just sex) I'm also 19 and i own my evo... And i pay for it so what? Dont listen to the haters out there man. I'd say either the vantage or stick with the evo... Do you track your car at all or just street driving? The evo is a better car for the track in my opinion rather than any of those lower end of the spectrum supercars. Good luck.

Yes, but are you in the position to buy an Aston? And good for you if you own your EVO, many of us do too.

Just get a z06..Its faster and half the price of all the others you mentioned anyway and modding it will be insanity. Save the money and in a few years buy an exotic...owning a car like that under 25 is just dumb as the girls and friends it will attract are not worth it at that age.

If you can afford one of those cars than you can buy one and keep the evo, there is no need to chose...

I'm 44 years old, and if you're able to afford these choices on your own then I applaud you. Tell the jealous ones to keep to the topic at hand.

My brother in law has an F430 and is still amazed at the performance that is possible in my Evo IX.

You can always move "up" later. Why not enjoy what you already have. The experience will never be the same. Faster, yes.... more refined, yes.... Status symbol, yes... but I think that you'll end up missing the "rawness" of the Evo. It's a younger person's car, hell, I'm probably getting too old for it, but it's a hard habit to break!

Good luck with your decision either way.

Tony

Just so we have this clear....Im not a hater, i know what its like to be that age right now im 22, 23 in May. I know what its like to try to afford a car like this right now let alone a supercar. If he has a legitmate job and can afford something like that on his own, im happy for him.

I have friends that, mom and dad always bail them out. When they come into the "real world" they're gonna cry. My frends father just funded a fully built B18 CRX on juice its a mid 12 car on a DOT. Same kid has a choice between an Ariel Atom or a 93+ Supra when he graduates college. He also collects a paycheck every week for more than im making from his fathers business and he NEVER steps foot in the place. And that pisses me off, to have it handed to to all the time.

Im perfectly content with my brandy new 06 IX RS.....Cuz I bought it with MY money that I earned with MY paycheck.

BTW: Make a 9 sec evo instead, its cooler.

Sorry some is a lil off topic, i may have just vented a lil.

+1, and the liberty bell rings again. Seriously, like what everyone's already mentioned and is probably going to mention. If you have enough to buy a super car, you'd just look silly taking in an EVO8 as a trade in. The salesman will look at you, blink a few times and during those few seconds, in his mind, he's already thinking you're a joker, slaps you around a few times, and kicks you out the door but what he will actually do is give you a smile and say "I'll see what I can do." Besides, you simply don't trade in for super car. It's just one of those things you do spontaneously, out of the whim, badda-bing, you know? So if you're seriously thinking about it, then you probably can't afford the car.

There's an old proverb my father use to tell me, can't remember the exactness of it all, but goes like this: "The hungrier you are the less you take."

From the sound of your post, you're really hungry.
