keep the evo or sell for supercar?
keep the evo or sell for supercar?
im in the position to sell my evo 8 tuned to around 350whp and upgrade to either an Aston Martin Vantage or similar (360, gallardo, sl55, 911 etc)
however i also cant seem to personally justify the extra expenditure for just a status/brand symbol, i know my evo offers the same if not more performance than all these supercars but im just not too sure which way to sway with this one.
My age i suppose has a huge factor in my decision too, im 19 gonna turn 20 in few months, i feel i might be too young for something like a 911 or aston?
any advice/throughts from people who have been in a similar situation and what they deicided in the end would be muchly appriciated

I would say keep the evo... it's more practical in every way. And they are much more reliable then european cars. I wouldn't want to spend over $600 for an oil change or how much ever a AM or Porsche, etc charges... way too much.
^ What he said.
But again, If you have the money to buy AM, Porsches, Ferrari...
You must have the money to get an oil change . No matter if it's 600 bucks for one oil change.
Oh. Btw- (edit) - If you deicided to keep an evo, Go big. (AMS or Buschur . Gt35r Kit, 2.3 Stroker.) And call it a day......

Let me get this straight; you are 19 years old and already own an Evo and are now able to get a "supercar"? My first question is who is financing these expenditures? If you tell me it is your parents then someone needs to have a talk with your parents and then smack them around. Why any parent would purchase an expensive vehicle for their adolescent is beyond me. If you are able to afford your automobiles without the financial assistance of mommy and daddy then my next question is what the hell are you doing for employment to be able to afford said vehicles?

Hmmmmmm........
I love my Evo, but if I had the financial resources to comfortably get any of the "supercars" you listed then just keep your Evo and get one of the aforementioned cars.
No offense to the OP but your post doesn't make much logic.

OK......what do you do at age 19-20 that you can afford an Astin Martin or anything else you listed, let alone an Evo.....or is this another one of Mom and/or Dad, can i have $100,000 to do buy a car....
It doesn't cost $600 for an oil change, not even at the dealer. I know for a fact, my father has a 993 and it only runs about 90 dollars or so.
Why don't you see what you can do with the Evo first? Obviously, you can probably afford to do very comprehensive modifications.
I'm 44 years old, and if you're able to afford these choices on your own then I applaud you. Tell the jealous ones to keep to the topic at hand.
My brother in law has an F430 and is still amazed at the performance that is possible in my Evo IX.
You can always move "up" later. Why not enjoy what you already have. The experience will never be the same. Faster, yes.... more refined, yes.... Status symbol, yes... but I think that you'll end up missing the "rawness" of the Evo. It's a younger person's car, hell, I'm probably getting too old for it, but it's a hard habit to break!
Good luck with your decision either way.
