Does Warm air make a difference?

Hey guys i was just wondering if my friend is right or not. So my buddy says that if your racing you should turn on the air on hot (not the AC) to make your car run faster. Since the warm air is coming from your engine. It kinda makes sense but im wondering if any of you guys have any opinions on this issue? Thanks

AC cuts your performance, but hot air in the car won't help you.... It will help you lose some weight, he-he. I can imagine how hot it will be during hot summer day

Definately will not make any significant improvement. Plus if you have the AC on I have heard that our cars are tuned to turn off the compressor under boost.

it's the true. having the heater on. suck the heat out of your radiator. i put my temp knob the hotest or half. and turn the fan speed on 1. if you think it's a joke well. fo tell that to Most road racing driver. it benefit most road racing.

i notice a lot of people don't bother to read the post and think he is putting on the AC lol. anyways i dont have a answer just an opinion that yea having the air on hot would take engine from the engine bay to the inside and make it cooler in the engine bay but wether or not it's actually neccesary i realy doubt it but hey when your racing every bit helps.

Not too cold, mind. The best temps for the engine are between 50F and 60F.

Oui... Ok, lets get this straightened out here and now.

The AC will leech a little hp to drive its compressor.

Turning your heat to full blast was a trick people used to use when their car was over heating.

If your car isn't overheating, its not going to give you measurable power increase.

Again, turning the heat to full blast was for cars that were overheating... back in the 70's.

Your radiator fan is controllered Ecu, btw.

Racer turned the heaters on full blast to help keep the motor from overheating from running under high load for extended periods of time. Really had nothing to do with power.

when turning the heater on the heat thats on the engine bay moves to the cabin so you have an engine bay with lower temps every little helps when racing i do it myself and yes ive logged the air tempetures and yes they come down when turning the heater on so it does help.
your friend is right
