Can't boost over 20psi

For some reason, I cannot boost over 20 psi, even with the boost controler turned all the way up. It still builds boost quickly, but will peak at 19-20 and drop to 15 psi at 7k. My only idea is that it is a boost leak somewhere, so i'm going to test that today. Is there anything else that could cause this?

Sounds like stock actually makes me wonder if your mbc is properly hooked up

Good luck on that leak

have you been tuned on a dyno or just the flash? sometimes is the case with ecu will only let you spike to 20 psi. I just got tuned this weekend by jestr on a mustand dyno and my psi got bumped to 24 psi but I have an EBC.

I don't know if you can do this with the Hallman, but I know you can with the Forge. I had the same problem, and I just switched out the spring for the stiffer one. After that, I got the boost to where I wanted with only a few turns.

Hope that helps.

Oh yeah, without any kind of tune you are likely to hit boost cut. Isn't fun.

It has been tuned on the dyno, and I was told that they were able to peak at 22psi. I checked and the boost controler is hooked up properly. Have yet to do a boost test, but I agree that it sounds like stock numbers.

You probably have a boost leak. I have a Hallman MBC with the soft spring in there and i'm boosting at 26 PSI.

OK, took of the air box and saw that one of the tubes on the stock boost control solinoid was not plugged, also another one was still hooked up to the air intake tube. I plugged both of the tubes on the bcs, and the one on the air intake tube. I took it out for a test drive and now cannot get over 16psi, I'm hoping that I did not miss a hose

Just took the hose off the wastegate and accidentally hit 26-27psi, so now I think it has to be something wrong with the boost controler, and luckly my buddy danny has a turbo xs dual stage in his trunk. Could there be any other cause for this problem?

Decided that the problem lies with the Halman mbc, took that off and the turbo xs mbc is working, boost is now at 22 tapering to 19-20 at redline. Does anyone know if you can fix/rebuild a halman mbc. Also, any reason my post count is staying at 2?

Probably has something to do with the fact that posts on the Newbie forum donīt get added to your overall post count.
