Buying a used Evo... ideas?

Hey All,

I am looking to buy a used Evo, probably an 8. I would go 9 but that is a tad bit too much (I want to save some cash too)... However i have looked through eBay and here (briefly) but i cant seem to find a good match for me.

Low Mileage, not-abused at all, 2004/2005 VIII... Preferably Black, Electric Blue, or maybe Wicked White.

Someone care to help me out? I have about 22k to spend or so...

Have you already checked the local classifieds, auto trader, etc? I've seen a few 8's come and go in the local paper for less than 20k. Given, they probably went for that price for a reason BUT you can atleast test drive them in person. Thats how I basically found my EVO and lucked out on the price too!!

well make sure when you purchase a used evo.....make sure its not beat to death like the majority of them i've seen. pull the car fax and if your going private party snoop around for the truth. call your local mitsubishi dealer and ask for a service manager and what they have to say about used evo's. good luck i recomend keeping your eyes glued on the forums because most of the time you'll get an evo for real cheap.....sometimes a good 05 :P. good luck!

carfax is such bull****

I bought a used 2005 that was purchased and titled in CA but registered and spent it's life in Nevada.

The only record on Carfax was from when the car was first titled in CA. Worthless!

I will never buy a used car ever again. You just don't know what you're going to get. It's a gamble. As for Evos, they are more prone to abuse and crashes. That reason alone is a no go for a used Evo.
