Hello,I am new here! (MR question! & WRC MX 2007 PICTS)

Hi guys,
Nice to meet you all!
My name is Christian, I am french and I live in Mexico city since 1996.
After 25 years living in France (a long time ago when radars were not so many!) my toys were Renault 5 GT Turbo and a fabulous Alfa Romeo 1979 Sprint we transform in 4x4 Turbo with a couple of friends...

Living in Mexico was not so hot (car regarding :-) until 2006 when we finally got a chance to buy Evo and Scooby models.
So for my last birthday I took the step and here is my EVO IX MR.

Now I am anxious to mod it and do it some tricks, most of all to enjoy it better!

I am a rally addict and I was in the last WRC Rally Mexico where we could appreciate a fantastic show. Here are some picts I took there.

Talking about future, I am trying to build my wish list and I need some help from you guys to know why when I am surfing on part sites, they say that their blow-off valve does not fit on a MR model. What makes this car different from other Evo IX and where do you think I could get a great Blow off valve?

Thank you all to visit this page and thank you for your help.

Evoregard! Christian.

I guess everyone starts off with these questions

Mechanically I can think of no reason that BOV wouldn't fit, also I wouldn't put it on a MR since the BOV you have is perfect until you push past the 24psi mark. I'd save your money and spend on other more useful performance additives like an exaust, cams, fuel pump, and drop in filter.

There is quite the list of vendors that have staged upgrades who already have taken the time to make the most out of the performances parts as you progress. Look at Buschur, AMS, TTP, Gruppe-S for examples.

Thanx Roadspike!

Good to read that kind of news!
It was just to know why and learn.
My list starts with 3" full exhaust, big intake, XS intercooler and ecu remap!
Thanks again!

As fair warning some intakes seem to cause idle issues and afr weirdness on our cars. Additionally intercooler's are pretty expensive and you wont really see much of an improvement on your car compared to other modifications such as cams.

I would swap the intercooler with cams and a fuel pump.

When you replace the turbo, or if you do, consider the intercooler as the step before hand so you don't heat soak the air and loose power at high boost levels.

You are probably right. There is a french ECU magician who get 370HP with an EVO IX on dyno with only remap, header & 3" full line exhaust. The problem is that they do not reply mails!

Really?

Far as i know Vishnu has been offering their evo 9 380hp package with basically just a reflash... thats all.

http://www.vishnutuning.com/evoIX_Subzero_v380.htm

There are some things you should consider you know.

First the evo 9's turbo is larger than an evo 8's and with MIVEC technology makes better use of the turbo providing better bhp. Obviously when properly tuned these cars tend to make horespower for cheap.

Secondly not all dyno's are the same, I could probably make a stock evo say 400 hp if i wanted on a dyno. Whats important is the difference in horsepower on the dyno compared to its baseline, not some estimated flywheel horsepower output. David Buschur's dyno seems to read lower than some other dyno's etc but his impressive trap speeds and ET times at the track prove that the tune is working as good if not better than other similarly modified Evo's out there.

Cliff notes:

All I'm pointing out here is its not rocket science to do tuning but it is an art. There are many respected tuners out there notably Dynoflash, Jestr, AMS, Buschur, and many others that have proven track records. Find a tuner which is close to you thats respected and go from there.

If you do get 93+ octane.... please remember that it is recommended that you upgrade your fuel pump before cranking up boost!

The pump should be in your list IMHO! Congrats on your new adquision!

I dnt see vortex generators in your MR.. dnt get them included in MX.. also what kind of gas do you guys use ova there.. also it be nice if you can get someone to read your stock ecu.. and post it up.. since Emission laws are different I wonder how ur MAP is. "YES THEY ARE DIFFERENT IF YOU OTHER GUYS WONDER"

Also since this is a brand new car.. can you drive it everyday or do you also have to stop on a certain day because of your registration COLOR.. am from Mexico BTW so i know these things but wonder if things have changed since I left in 1997..

Congrats on the car.. i wonder how ppl look at chu driving that thing... you also must hate all the speed bumps we got over there huh..

I know this is bad, MX MR do not come with Vortex and neither sport kit meter :-( only Xenon.
I am about to install some gauges.
I am waiting for the USB cable to start with ECU. I will post the flash image as soon as I can.
Gas in Mex is 87 or 92 octane.
I can drive it every day for 2 years since it is a new car, after that I will need to pass pollution test (every 6 month) if I dont want my car park 1 day/week.! That's why I need to install my wished Greddy Ti exhaust asap:-)
