Thanks for the input, I was under the impression that the RS didn't have A/C. ABS is something I think I need to have, if not for my wife then for my sorry tail when I'm in over my head in traffic.

It will go on the track eventually, but I'm looking for something that is super fun to drive on the street, great in snow with the proper tires *AWD baby!* has the power windows, remote entry ect...I will modify it lightly at first the aforementioned mods, and when it has served its purpose as a daily drive I shall MOD THE HELL OUT OF IT! :-) But not until I have something else fun as a daily driver.

Is the clutch the same all across the trim levels?

That and the standard IX are options for me. The dealer near my home has 6 MR's on the lot and they seem eager to sell.....I'm trading in so hopefully I don't get the shaft too hard....any advice out there on getting the best deal?

i would get an SE or MR if i where you. Basicly, what i can get cheaper.
if he wants to sell the MR than maybe, you can have a better deal with that one ,who knows?
i can't give you an advice other than, don't be too exited to get one....

Let me put it this way....if I pay MSRP for any Trim Evo am I paying too much right now? It looks like no incentives right now, but who knows.

that's a fascinating assertion. i'm curious to know how you know so much about how i paid for my MR.

what i know about my purchase, though, is that i had the dealership show me the invoice, from the bank. had the vin, the exact loan amount, and the date the dealership took delivery. to be precise, i got it for 1,524.36 below what the dealership paid, to correct you.

so, before you hijack this thread, let's get back to the matter at hand. i hope that awdpirate gets a good deal, which is very possible if he can identify a specific car that has sat on the dealer lot for a while.

if you have the $$$$ why get a IX or SE if you can easily afford MR?
it's not how much you can save, it's how much you can spend

Here in Texas I just bought an SE for 3K off list and I believe some places locally are even slightly better than that.

I got my 06 MR for 28k used with 11k miles.
If you look around for a nice non-abused car just get something < 1 year old I think you'll get a great deal. Just don't buy anything that has been modded cause then you know it's been abused

And the MR drives like a dream. RS's I test drove had a far harsher drive, and even if it would have had a radio the cabin noise would have made it difficult to hear.
