Getting a IX

looking at selling my car or trading it in for a IX. Was seeing what people recommended as far as a car good for drag racing. Was looking at getting either the IX RS or just a IX SE. the differences from my understanding is that the rs is lighter, and the se is all the same options as the MR but without the 6 spd, cause i would like to stay with the 5 spd because of hearing they were more durable on the drags then the 6 spd was. Would most people recommend trading the car in and know a ball park valley for an 05 GG MR with 38k miles or just try to privately sell, any pointers will help.

Thanks

Why trade in...?? The money you will lose you could spend on your MR, it would be one hell of a best! I know miles are not that low anymore, but hey

Evo is an Evo whichever way you look at it. Just my 2 cents

that's very true. you will prolly lose a bit of money trading it in.

you could just put your viii on a diet, and spend that money on mods.

i don't know how much you have left to pay on your current car and whatnot, but i traded in my 05 viii with 17k miles on it, the dealer only gave me $22,800 for it. it was a bit under what i still owed (only by a couple of hundred bucks), but it is something to think about.

Why do you want a IX instead of the one you have? Just curious

Well currently having transmission problems with mine and from what people have told me the 6 speeds are weaker than the 5 spds? Just thought i would get a brand new one start off with a clean slate, save up the money for power upgrades and stuff instead of shelling it out to get drivetrain fixes.

Do some more research and don't listen to what people say. You have a great car.

keep your current car---the money you save can be used for future mods
