The Evolution ROCKS!!!!

Brothers and sisters; I have made this site my home as the hands of the gods have delivered me to the true Evolution of speed!!

Howdy all! I am a new comer to the world of the Evolution. I mean the car is just BAD, and that is in stock form! I cant wait to get her up to 600 HP and take her sideways!! Incidentally, I have never driven a car that is most comfortable taking turns at 120 sideways!! I cant make a mistake in this car!!!

No matter how hard you dig her in, you cant fold the envelope! I have been driving cars (if you can call them that!!) for 15 years on the ragged edge, but nothing compares to this...

I just want to share that with a bunch of people who can relate to the feelings of world domination that I am experiencing without looking at me like I blew a couple of valves and a cylinder head...

Glad to be a member!

Sherif E.

If you could afford to go to Jordan and steal the TME, you could afford to just import your own or something, pjal

And I assure you, Sherif, the vast majority of us here are infinitly jealous of your car...bastard!

Evolution Meeting Anyone???

Well, I tell y'all what; y'all pay me a visit down here in a couple of weeks and i will be sure to show you some of the sites! the added bonus will be a chance to take her out on a closed circuit track which used to be part of the WRC tour back in the mid 90s...

The only problem out here is the availability of parts - its all imports from the UK and then you tac on the customs!!! I cant even find the pads when i need to replace the ones I fried on those Brembos... Talk about EXPENSIVE!!!!

Still no joy!

Thanks for the tip off... But the closest Ferrari Dealer is a 3-hour flight on a commercial airliner!!!!

I have hooked up with a decent garage (the only one specialised out here for Evos) that has an open account with a couple suppliers in the UK. They seem to know what they're doin' so at least I take comfort in the knowledge that the guys working on the car are competent, regardless of the cost.

Found out from them the Turbo has been uped to 1 bar, the tranny has been replaced by a short throw 5 speed factory special from Japan. A local national driver has offered a Motec ECU at cost and free installation by an Aussie WRC specialist who is flying out here next week to work on his race car... Said the Motec should be good for an extra 120 HP. Dont know if that is enough though...! *grin*

I haven't had a chance to take her out on the highways yet - still working on getting a DL from the local DMV but its a real slow process...

Will try to post a couple of snaps now (if i can figure out how its done!).

Cheers!

Hmm...

So you think I should just go for the air flow and exhaust and drop the ECU? I really dont want to mess with the internals as this is still my office commuter for the near future...

Welcome! World domination... never thought about it but very true in this case. Nah, the pads ain't the same as on the F40, I had it checked once and they are different models, maybe the thickness is different, I don't know. So where do you drive your beast? In the desert? In that case better have a good airfilter fitted to the moufou. And otherwise all I can say is: Jallah, jallah!!:headbng2:

Don't drop the ECU!! You'll need some remapping to get the most out of your the new parts. If you don't remap to the parts you could even loose power compared to the standard car. Which Motec is it? M48 Pro or even an M800? Anyway, whichever one you get, that will the wisest choice you've ever done, cause after that you can run anything on your car (Launch Control, Anti-Lag,...) without having to go and exchange the ECU at some point. It's also possible for you to modify it later, provided you get the right program and cable for a laptop. Also the mapper should give you full access to change parameters on the ECU, cause I have the suspicion that there's not many Motec specialists in Jordan. That way you can get consulting over the phone and net and then change them yourself.

Confusion still reigns

Thanks Mike, guys for the help.

I did go to the garage yesterday for advice from probably, the only rally mechanical specialist in the country and he suggested that i not go for the ECU as no one has the capability or know-how to install or remap an ECU. There is a national rally kicking off on Friday 29th where specialists from Cyprus and Australia are flying in to setup and tweek cars before the rally. That's about the only time I can get my TME hooked up to a laptop for such configurations. Its a real *****...

Decided to drop the ECU for now until I get some more clarity on the whole issue. The recommendations were to slap on a twin plate ceramic clutch (the one on the car now, although upgraded, is bloody useless!) and upgrade the airflow (from the filter through to the exhaust) to "stage 1" which includes K&N intake setup up front and a complete HKS exhuast system running through the *** end... Expensive but I was told I would see a visible difference in power and performance

Angry I forgot to mention...

And, yes, the idiots who worked on the car before I got my hands on it got the front right suspension assembly wrong (hence the knocking sound from the front right side of the car that I mentioned earlier, Claudius was kind enough to flag the warning on that). It seems that the previous owner had idiots changing the suspension after he raced the car, and they couldn't get it together properly.

We also found a disconnected hose that sits right after the airflow meter which was responsible for the poor fuel consumption (about 200 Kms to a full tank).

It goes to show why these cars aren't selling very well out here as road going machines - There is only one garage in the whole country that has the expertise to service these babies!!! Talk about neglect from Mitsubishi for its star performer!!!!

I cant figure out how to get a thumbnail of my car up under my personal details

I did manage to post a pic though in the gallery. Its the red TME against a beige wall (It's still the last vehicle to be added at the top left of the gallery page...)

The Evo rocks!!! :headbng2:

twin plate clutch is nice. i have one also.

what kind of suspension are you running?

200-240km for a full tank is about what I get.

Would really like Motec too.

Hope you continue to enjoy your car as much as I am.
