SS Exhaust Heat Shield
If you look at my carbon fiber heat shield you can just make out 2 screws on the very bottom that I drilled into the bumper. I also used doubled sided tape on the top to hold it tight against the upper section of the bumper. this has worked fine for me so far.
My Greddy Ti hangs down a half inch from underneath the bumper. I've adjusted the slip/band clamp as much as I can to give me enough distance between the muffler tip and the bumper. The main concern is the length of the Greddy Ti, it simply is not long enough. This Exhuast is designed for the JDM bumper that has the diffuser built into the bumper(JDM) which makes the JDM bumper shorter at the muffler tip cutout hence the USDM bumper is longer and Greddy Ti is a bit short and rides just at even or slightly behind the cutout. A heat shield is a must have is using the Greddy Ti cat back...I used the carbon fiber cause it can be refreshed as need be and also it does not conduct heat as the steel shield will heat up for sure during the longhot summer months. I plan on (when time permits) to fabricate a gasket like spacer that will move the exhaust out another half inch and will help with the sutey buildup from running catless(test pipe)...

i just thought about doing that the other day because my HKS is the same way. ma bee someone makes a spacer for us if this is common. or ma bee most people just buy the jdm anyway, or they aren't as picky as us.
the USDM bumper is also longer because of the crash bar regulations here in the states.
im holding off on putting the heat shield on. until i see how it'll look...if someone posts some pictures up
unless someone can tell my what kind of clips will hold it. the guy who i bought the heat shield from said that he's heard of guys using some kind of clips that hold it perfectly.
i might remove my greddy ti and put my rsr ex mag back on since there's a bolt thats rattling on the intermediate pipe and i think there might be a small hole int he piping =X
i really hope its not.
once i see nice pictures of the heat shield, i'll throw on my greddy Ti and the heat shield if i get a dp and aftermarket cat

i saw that one...i'd like to see others. im more interested in the pictures that have the shield pushed in more
also, if anyone knows what kind of clips to use so i dont have to use the screws

I've just made an exhaust extension for my Perrin to get it our past the USDM bumper. It's going to protrude about 1/2 inch or so past the bumper. You can go to your local truck/diesel shop and get a 4" (or whatever size you need) exhaust adaptor that measures in I.D. what your O.D. exhaust outlet is. Drill 2 holes to tap a metal screw into, some flat black paint and voila! I'll post pictures next week after I get it installed and painted.
Anyone mount these with no screws at all?
I don't even know if I need one on my megan catback, it has a slight angle to it so Im worried the side that is closer to the bumper might cause problems.... anyone have any input?
Keep the pictures coming!

pictures FTW!
80210, post picture of how close it is to the bumper
dingleberries...i would install it with clips IF someone can tell me what kind of clips to use. lol
In that case, you'll be waiting all year for someone to post info on clips. So how much do you want for your heat shield? =)
To the poster above.. if your Megan one sits to the driver's side a bit.. then just use a razorblade to cut the bumper a bit! I thought it would hold up for a ride back home where I could get one.. but it melted the bumper on the contact. It also proved hard to clean it off!
I got the SS shield and it cools down the bumper fine. Although my car still has it cocked a bit to the side. The SS works wonders on the car's soot.. I have mine sticking out just like the lancershops just to avoid the carbon buildup. In one week without it, I had a faint sign of the coloring. I put the shield in to make sure that it wouldn't damage the paint.
I'm used to the look.. and for the comment about the CF one not melting versus the SS one, that's ridiculous. The CF is made out of plastic/resin, and SS is.. metal. So why would the SS one melt? If anything any metal/SS one is a million times better since it would conduct the heat away faster as well as cool off faster. BTW: I used 4 small tap screws to put it into the plastic where nobody can see it anyways. I'm not bothering with a pic here since it looks pretty much like the lancershop one.
