Man, don't get either yet. If you have that much money, save it. By the time you're a more mature driver, both of these cars will have evolved extremely. Quit thinkin about cars and get yo butt to college and study!!!

If I had that much money just layin around, I'd invest in something good so that I could have enough to buy both. STUDY!!!!!

You worked part time as a high-schooler earning over 15k a year? Wow I wish I had a job like that outside my regular job. I guess you've been either dealing cocaine or just plain lying.

I don't understand why a 17 year old would need a brand new car not to mention that you need it to be a high performance at the same time. Seeing from your request for slushbox tranny I am assuming that you are not really an enthusiast either. If you just want a car to show off to your friends, use it mainly to commute, while not lose to a ricer kid in civic with a big wing in a highway run why not just get something like 1998 Merc CLK320 or something, you can get that for less than half the price of brand new Evo or STi, insurance would be cheaper although maintenance might not, but at least you'll get people bending over for you at merc service center. You'll save some on gas as well.

Check the insurance first on both. You might be surprised unless your parents can insure you, even then my 16 insured daughter on my EVO RS(cheapest to insure out of all EVO/STI combos) is $387 per monthm which of course she will never drive at that rate. Go pay cash for 1G DSM, learn how to drive and go to college, then laugh at me in 5 years when you graduate and I am still driving an 06 EVO.

Seriously. Take that money, and go to friggin' college. Drive a Civic until then. When you graduate, get a good job, and have some experience, buy an Evo XII.
