I thought about going for a IX RS, because it's cheaper... not so common and in regards to performance, the best of the bunch. A race car. This would be for daily driving.
This car is about performance not comfort or luxuries. Pwr windows and other stuff can be added later...
Radio can always be put in. Remember, most of us have already replaced our STOck HeadUnit anyways..lol

A buddy of mine has an RS and he only uses it for the track (he races it at VIR). He says that there's no way it could be his daily driver. I have an Evo IX and I don't think I could live without power windows, etc. It all comes down to personal preference and how much you are willing to give up. Plus, also depends on the previous cars you've owned. If you're used to having all those niceties, it will be hard to leave them behind. Good luck with your choice and welcome to the Evo family!
I love my RS, I mean sometimes in the summer time I would not mind power windows, but this car is a performance.
Power locks - Who cares
Remote - One more thing to worry about
Power Windows - Easy to deal without them
Black mirrors & Handles - IMO they look good

Well I have had roll up windows and yeah it sucks but ultimately I have performance to brag about, it's kind of cool to have a $30,000 race car that has NOTHING... has people saying wow wtf more often haha. Plus there TEH F4ST3RRRR

I dont mind the black door handles, I could maybe even live without the power windows....but the damn power locks?! Cmon. the motors for power locks weigh 1 lb each. Lets be real here.
I could understand if there was like a 500lb weight savings form the rs to the reg evo but the weight savings are negligible. and the Evo makes enough power with bolt ons to compensate, and the extra 100lbs or whatever doesnt make that much diff on the brakes.

i did myself a favor of saving a bit moreofmoney and waited by a bit and bought the gsr if its gonna be a daily driver go for the gsrs and mrs but if yourr planning to go for a full racecar / track car.. u can get away with an rs... you always get what you pay for....
i think the better question is: Can you live with the RS features? also, other people will be riding with you. a few thousand dollars more and you can get the regular IX.
I have had both... I do miss, at times, pwr everything and the moon roof... But over all My 9RS is AMAZING. im into the twistys so i love the abs-less brakes predictability and the raw loud road noises. My RS is much more fun to me cause of the raw feeling it gives you... Get a BMW if you need all the extra crap.
In JAPAN you can order an evo with nothin on it, no recaro seats or enkie wheels or brembos, for like 20k. Because chances are your just going to upgrade it to better stuff anyways... So just think, what do you need?, and what will the car be used for?... GOOD LUCK!

I would have gotten an Evo RS and added the power door locks and windows. But one thing I can't live without is ABS. No matter how many times people say "oh just pump the brakes in emergency situations". When **** happens on the highway at 75+mph and you have to dodge cars/debris and you slam on those brakes, you dont think about pumping those brakes.
