05 turbo vs 06 turbo???
05 turbo vs 06 turbo???
nob question..... I'm thinking of swaping my stock 05 turbo with a stock 06. I'm also wondering how much more power will I get? For the money is it even worth doing??
yes it's worth it. 06 turbo can be had for about $500/shipped used. You will need to buy an install kit or go to mitusbishi and buy all the seperate parts individually. I promise if you search, you will find many pictures of the turbo's side by side and dyno graphs.

I think people get confused on exactly what the hotside is. I talked to alot of guys and they all had different ideas. The hotside is the turbine housing, not the compressor housing. The outlet has nothing to do with the hotside. Or am I unclear on what exactly you mean by "outlet"?
I think the 9s have a different outlet though, not sure but thats why they have the instal kit plus the right fitment lines.
I'm trying to find a link to a site that gives all the information on what those numbers mean, but I can't find it for the life of me. Instead of writing a response the length of a novel, I will try and find it and post it later.
O.K., here is some info for ya.

Turbo facts
Not to mention I believe the 06 has a lighter magnesium turbine wheel for quicker spool.
