does gas mpg increase with a flash?

does your gas mpg increase when you get a ecu flash? Right now im going threw over a 1/4 tank of gas a day and i heard you get better gas mpg with a flash.

also i have a hks intake that came with the car when i got it and it was never flashed. i dont know if this has to do anything with bad mpg.
before you start to tell me that i need one right away!!! to me my car runs fine and im on the stock bov. i also have plans for a flash mid summer when i get a tbe, fuel pump, licp, and a new front mount.

a flash will increase mpg usually because they lean out your fuel curves so yes it is likely you will get more mpg

no you will not get much of an increase because you will want to run the gears more often

Agreed Aryder! But seriously though... I had my tune loaded up before i had a chance to put my Apex'i intake on and my gas mileage was crap... Once i installed the intake it went back to normal... Guess it was just wanting more air since thats what i was tuned for. Also how many miles are you driving a day? With just normal city driving not getting on it unless i need to i get around 60-70 miles to a quarter tank.

Ive recently been re-flashed by dynoflash then Jestr and it DEF seems to be getting better gas mileage......its NOT gonna be something that will be like "OMG im getting 39 MPG now!!" just 1-3 more than usual.....and OF COURSE thats when youre driving conservatively!!

The Evos run REALLY rich from factory. However, I have to say that the best solution to this problem is staying out of boost. I normally get around 23 miles per gallon on the city if i go light on the pedal.
