Holy moly look at all the posts already...Yeah I was looking at the MR just because of the 6-Speed and I think it had blue seat inserts which is nice??? What does the GSR stand for???
Yeah i read up some info on the MIVEC so the IX's have this new motor technology huh...Less wieght better mileage im down for that..
I probably will be looking for a IX than w/SSl (sunroof package right)...I want one in white..Hummm this is going to be long.. Kind of expect my car if I do get it to look like this:

Evolution IX
Standard ("GSR") - revised 5-speed, standard model
RS - revised 5-speed, aluminum roof, gauge pack, minimal interior
SE (Special Edition) - aluminum roof/hood, split seven-spoke forged aluminum BBS wheels in "diamond black" finish, HID headlights with integrated fog lights, red-stitched Recaro seats
MR - 6-speed, Bilstein monotube shocks, split seven-spoke forged aluminum BBS wheels, aluminum roof, gauge pack, HID headlights with integrated fog lights, vortex generator, and custom MR badging.
With the Standard or ("GSR") model, the Sun Sound and Leather package (SSL) adds a power sunroof, HID xenon headlamps with integrated fog lights, slightly upgraded speakers, a powered trunk-mounted Infinity subwoofer, black leather seating surfaces, slightly revised center armrests front and rear, and separate rear headrests. This model deletes the GSR's headliner-mounted sunglass holder to make room for the sunroof.

I would get the MR (I did) - it is very nice out of the box. A few people say the 6 speed is bad tranny to have, but unless you are like Vin Diesel and live your life one quarter mile at a time, the benefits from it out weigh the detriments like fuel saving on the freeway. But yeah I'd agree in the 1/4 the 5 spd is better. MR gets you the HIDs, aluminum roof / hood, the bilsteins and BBS wheels plus a few basic gauges. The suspension and wheels and HIDs are a good value. But you have to decide features will benefit you the most.

A Wicked White MR is an awesome car! I love mine. Don't listen to the trash about weak gears. Use the search function and develop your own opinion. (Lower gears are actually beefier.) The bilstein suspension on the MR is very nice too.
if you want a sunroof you can't get an MR cuz of the aluminum roof. IIRC gears 1 and 2 are beefier on the 6 speed, 3 is the same?, and 4 and 5 are thinner than on the 5 spd. MR suspension is very nice and I really love my MR wheels.
