imo: if u want to get a v8/v10 killer...a TT gto is def a candidate, me personally, would opt for the c5 z06. Its already a demon out of the box and light. I could understand if you like the interior and 4 seats of the GTo tho Either way, i'd say its completely up to u and what u want. Honestly, if u dont have a family, id say sell the evo since ur already thinking of doing that and mod up the GTO, me personally i'd do it the other way around. I'd sell the GTO (as i did), and mod the evo (as im doing).

Drop the Evo. TT the GTO and enjoy. SOme 315 sized rubber in the back will help slightly with traction.

Tough choice. I think the GTO would be sick and the LSx motr is a good power plant. But the Mitsu powerplant has years and years of proven performance and power making. But the downfall is the drive train IMO.

Before I bought my EVO the GTO was on my list of options. I went with the Evo only because the GTO didnt handle like I wanted in a car that I drive daily. But that can be fixed with suspnsion.

Good Luck on your choice.

I have a twin turboed 02 zo6. I by far have a HELL of a lot more fun in my evo which is 503hp than my z06 that is 731 ( built motor, heads, cam, exhaust, nitrous, lingenfelter TT kit )

sell the GTO. use the money to get :

2.3 stroker
gt42r
head
cosworth cams
tranny
tc
clutch
fuel mods
ems
race gas

an go rape new c6 z06's
cobras
supras ( some )
bikes

ill beat you that you will have more fun in a 700hp evo VS a 700hp gto

keep both. Just Mod GTO for drag racing, Evo keep stock for Track. Start doing some OT to pay for Mods.

putting in a TT and you'll burn away on tires, including money. Use that wasted money from tires and TT mods you'll make the evo smoke anything. Unless you like drag racing, but the evo in a drag race with that amount of money spent on a GTO, can't touch it either. But on the forums anyone is going to be bias, just do what makes get excited!

i love american muscle and torque so much thats why i got it... but i love the launch of the awd. There are just so many evos in my area i think im gunna go with the goat i just enjoy driving it more. Low end torque rocks dont have to mash my evo down to get that pull. I know the gto is bigger and heavier but im 6'6" i dont fit to well in it hahaha and look weird getting out of it.

Im letting you all down... haha. Its the rarity and muscle that im stuck on.

unless u're just into straight line racing with decent daily driveability.

but considering that a big powered gto won't be able to put down its power for sh*t on the streets, versus the EVo's turbo lag on the street but full traction at WOT....i guess pick your poison...

if u're into road racing at all, Evo ftw. you just can't overcome that much weight of the GTO in the corners.
