Considering getting rid of EVO
MPG with a big turbo on a evo will get much better gas milage than any tt v8. I was getting 42 mpg highway with my evo with gt35r 2.0 (check signature).
The GTO is nice; very nice, but we all will be in favor of the evo. lol after all this is an evo forum. What you should do is check and see how much a full build on both will run you. Also if your lookin to beat up on vipers and vetts it will be twice as fun to do it with a 120 ci 4 banger!!! and not another v8.

I'm not sure either the GTO or Evo would be a sleeper.. Probly the Evo more so if I had to pick one.
If you really want a sleeper, I dont think either one really fits the bill.
Get like a Ford Taurus, and twin turbo that piece, now that's a sleeper.
Honestly, I cant tell you what to do, they're your cars, it's your decision, dont ask other people what you should do with your life and your stuff..

Hate to burst ur bubble but u know what everyone (or most) would say in this forum.
Like the previous posters before me, either sell the gto and use the money to mod the evo OR use the evo for DD (mod it bit by bit if u want) and make the GTO a track monster.
But then again, u said that u dont fit well in the evo, so I guess u might have to sell it then.
By the way, my FIRST KILL was a GTO too.

good gosh, i clicked the link to the page with the kit and the torque and power curves are pretty amazing. seeing those numbers on 1. 93 pump gas! and 2. a dynodynamics dyno chart shows you that we aren't talking about a motor you have to make special arrangements for or fiddlefudge around.
while people have to save their pony keg of race gas for that special occasion you could just fill up at, oh, any gas station and make serious power day in and day out. that is undeniably cool. chassis dynamics are another thing, but it's obvious that isn't really the point is it?
GTO! sounds like fun.

the evo's mpg blows and is only raited 2 mpg better than the gto. awd sucks up gas like no other.
with a big turbo on a evo i would guess 15-18mpg and with the tt gto i would guess 10mpg
i would also keep and mod the evo because when you have a fast high power car awd is a must on the street. traction is always going to be the issue. 600whp on a fwd or rwd on street tires is useless. only good for burn outs. 600whp with awd is actually usable

From my observations, a big turbo will help improve gas mileage, if you can keep your foot out of it. I don't see 42mpg being possible, but I've been wrong in the past.
Ok, i only drove it back and forth from phoenix all the time. and at 75 mph i "averaged" 40-42! Maybe cause it was down hill one way and lower elevations but, Im not stupid and i dont smoke anything! It was a rough test not a pro test. Big turbo = no spool on freeway at 75 mph = efficant 2.0l that gets great mpg. Also "rated" is with a small turbo thats spooled on the freeway! so ya no kidding evo's are "rated" only 2 mpg higher. I control my foot as to not mash it every where I go and i actualy do the speed limit
. But what the heck, we didnt buy these cars for gas, we bought em to have fun, if you want to talk mpg there are some good honda forums i can refer you to!
Back on topic, I was only adding another benifit of having a big turbo. GTO is fun but it will suck to see your old evo somone else bought and made 700 whp and smoke your fully built gto!
trust me I have seen it happen, it sucks! Have fun and get what you want bro!

Obviously coming on the Evo forms with this question, the response will be "get rid of the GTO, keep the Evo!"
I'm not sure if you've discussed this on any GTO forums, but I'm guessing the reply will be the opposite of the reply from the Evo forms. I'd be curious to know their reasoning for keeping the GTO and ditching the Evo.
Trying to stand in the middle and look at pros and cons of each car without bias, it seems as if the Evo has the longer list of pros. It will easily outhandle the GTO, it can handle BIG (600+) HP easier w/ AWD - car is much easier to control, has better brakes, has 4 doors, and it can make for a better sleeper. The pros for the GTO are that it's got that V8 torque down low, has that muscle car feel/sound to it, and... hmm, I'm having a hard time of thinking of anymore advantage.
Just my take on it. I really couldn't justify keeping the GTO over the Evo, but hey, that's me, and like I said that's the reply you should expect on the EVO forums...
