Question How come no HID?

Hey I just bought an 06 IX. I guess it doesnt come with HID headlights nor Fogs.

Do you know how much it costs to convert at the dealer and I am better off going with an aftermarket conversion?

Thanks.

You should've bought an SE, SSL, or MR. Where have you been for the past two years. The standard gsr lost HID headlamps and foggies in 05. It'll be cheaper for you to just buy an aftermarket kit.

What about the fact that aftermarket kits arent able to be adjustable.
...you know the switch to the lower left of the steering wheel that adjusts the height.

Thanks.

It's gonna cost some $$$ to get some HIDs that will function like factory.

I bought mine not knowing anything about this forum and I wish I had...but yea I am looking into the market to buy some HID's but the foglights deal..I don't know, heard it really wasn't worth the money to invest since it doesn't enhance the visibility much, just for looks.

If you are looking to totally replicate the factory setup, goodluck. Its gonna take some time and quite a bit of money for parts and such. Unless the car is already pre-wired for the Hid and fogs, it would be too much of a headache.

dont waste extra money on the hid adjust function.. its really cool to have, but really not that useful... but i do like my hids adjusted all the way down and not pointing out that far like regular lights do, cause it separates u from other cars that cant do it..LOL :P

I agree that you won't need the switch I have aftermarket hids and never found a need for the ajusting switch, if anything i've heard of people having problems with the factory hids sometimes not adjusting properly. If you really want factory ones you may be able to find a pair in the for sale threads but they are expensive and a pain to wire in the fogs.
