Ok, quick question before i go running my mouth...actually let me tell the quick story.....a guy came out to a local meet last night with an EVO 9 that has a boost conroller (says he is running 21psi) and a drop in filter. I was also there and the 9 owner wanted to race someone....i however won't be racing since the car is being sold but....when he was told to race me he said that it is a total waste of time b/c he would destroy me. I have the mail in flash from Dynoflash and a K&N drop in......
Now the question....would he beat me? I mean, from what i heard, he was rather cocky and ignorant about it..........just kinda pisses me off.
Let me know what you guys think
(i may have to race him...i would have to get the ok from the next buyer...my friend)

The problem is you're going basely on what you hear.. In accordance to a real street racer.. We are all stock
Evo SS is what I call it.. Evo (Super Stock). Also I'm not a big fan flash of Dynoflash, I've had my share of personal experiences but at this point.. if what you say is right.. It's all a matter of who has the better Driver mod as someone already stated.

You're talking about TRACK racing, right? In that case, I think it would be very close.
The IX dynos about 10-15hp more than an 8. The boost controller probably gives him about 20hp more.
The dynoflash gives you about 25 more hp on stock boost.
I would call this a dead even race, driver skill being equal, with an ever so slight edge to the IX. He would not "destroy" you by any means.

the 9 already have more hp and tq at the wheels vs 8. Pluss when you reflash them with boost controller+ dropp in also the 9 will make some more hp vs 8 .Also the 9 can handle little bit more boost vs 8, safely. so he can be ahead just for flash boostcontroller and dropp in easy 30 whp or more + tq.
BUT he will NOT destroy you,specially if you are the better driver.
30 hp on track is .... put it this way ,the better driver will win period.
Learn to drive your car as it is and you will be suprised how many "big shot" guy will finish behind you.Specially if you racing on road course and auto X.

I have a IX and I it will not rape you. From what I have seen most guys just run there mouths I mean here I get stock Hondas that say they can rape me and I laught at them. its funny. but if you two were to race and you are a better driver then I say that you will win.

if he is new to his...youll race and from the launch (at a track) youll hit boost since you have been driving longer and know how to launch, he'll not hit boost and bogg, you win! Then he will make up an excuse how his clutch is slipping or something.
