Positive things about your EVO ownership?
Positive things about your EVO ownership?
I just wanted to know what were or are some of the positive things about your EVO ownership? Anything you just didn't expect and the EVO surprised you?
Here are mine-
#1- Stock Clutch
I honestly didn't expect my stock clutch to last this long. I have around 31,000 miles, over 300whp, and over 50 hard drag strip launches and the stock clutch is still holding. I am not sayin' that my stock clutch has broken any records, I am just sayin' I didn't expect it to last this long. I heard all the horror stories, and was like if I make it to 15,000 miles I will be lucky
.
#2- Attention
I mean I own a EVO IX RS and seriously I didn't expect that this car would get so much attention and respect. I am not saying that people are snapping pictures of my car like a Veyron or something, but I do get a lot of thumbs up from other car owners I wouldn't have expected and have a lot of people ask me questions about the EVO.
#3- Interior Space
I know this isn't a big deal to some, and it wasn't for me when I bought the EVO, but I must admit the EVO extra space has really come in handy. Among my friends, I am the driver 90% of the time, so I am usually stuffing 5 and sometimes 6 peeps in the car. It's cool, I like to drive, so being the driver usually isn't a big deal for me except when we go clubbing or something and I have to be the designated driver
.
#4- Fun to drive
I just love driving this car, it's combination of handling and power means I get from point a to point b very quickly. I don't even realize it sometimes, but I be moving quickly. I mean my friends are still amazed at how quickly we get to our destination when I drive the EVO, and seriously I am not at all really opening the EVO up. Once got from Ontario, California to Irvine, California in 15 mins, yeah I was in a hurry that day
.
#5- No Problems
Call me lucky or whatever, but I haven't had a single issue (other than that pesky intercooler hose) with the EVO. If anything went wrong it was my fault or some bad luck. The stock clutch is still good, but starting to slip, but I put it through a lot of abuse. Paint is still good, all interior pieces still intact. No leaks, nothing. My previous Audi A4 had many issues, stupid electrical problems, clutch lasted 5,000 miles (WTF Audi?). Speedometer stopped working. Radio stopped working for a while. Latch on the front seat broke off. Rear window motor stopped working
. This is all from a so called luxury company. I bought the Audi at 20,000 miles and by 22,000 miles I had my first problem, and sold it at around 70,000 miles plus. Hopefully I don't have any serious issues in my EVO in the future (knock on wood).
