there are a million sugestions of what we think you should do, but you should do is figure out what kind of driving u wanna do and then work from there. talk with reputable tuners in the area or call folks and ask them questions. they will answer all your questions so that they try to get your money. or put it all toward paying the damn thing off. i know i wish i had done that instead of buy all my parts some times

smart, yea. i'm sure a lot of us are smart but i think it's more of a self control issue. If you had the money sitting around i'm sure most people would spend it even knowing the smarter thing to do is invest it.

I bounce from 0% cards everytime they run out not paying them off in full. my credit must be awful but I just got a house too that was really the best investment I ever made.

You might die tomorrow, invest half and spend the other half and be happy. what good is that money if you never get to use it. sure you'll probably live to but what if you invest it all and lose your foot tomorrow. will you be happy? You never know what is going to happen in life. on the worse side of thing if you spend that money on your evo and it breaks now you're really SOL. I would have invested money but was depressed about losing my dsm so i bought my evo in full, minus 5000 dollars cash advance (that was the worst part)

All of that is just my oppinion but again everyone is different.

as for parts to get; it does really depend on what you want to do.

personal recomendations for drag;
get the drop-in pistons and rods from buschur
gt35r or somewhere in that ballpark
supporting mods and a tune whether it be a reflash or invest into aem
IF you go with meth assure your saftey with multiple failsafes and keep an eye on your gauges.

good luck

my evo is completely stock and I would like to know what would you guys recomemend. this is what i have. FMIC, licp, upic, tbe, coilovers.

these are what i have in mind. i dont know if 10k will be enough for these parts.

AMS GT35R
HKS 272 cams/gear
AEM EMS
HKS EVC VI
ACT clutch/fly wheel
ALCOHOL INJECTION
walbro fuel pump

do i really need head studs?

the car will having 2 maps.
one for daily driving which is 21 psi safe.
and one for racing which is 30+ psi with meth.
so let me know if this is good.
Look at my sig---all that officially cost me 10k as of last night. Well if I include the alarm that is. This is an expensive hobby to say the least. Details:

AMS ECU base flash $185.00

Alarm w/ turbo timer $486.51

AMS TBE, KN Filter, Greddy Profec B Spec II $1,424.95

Interior setup (Defi blue racer gauges for boost, oil & h2o temp, and oil pressure. A-pillar pods and lower gauge pods) .$963.00

42 designs gauge adaptors (for oil psi, oil temp, and h2o temp) $72.00

AMS FMIC, lower FMIC piping, Walbro Fuel pump $1,129.69

AMS ECU custom flash $250.00

Zeal Suspension $2,075.00

Carbon Craft Rear LP backing and exhaust shield $208.92

S1 cams and ARP studs $701.21

Fpgreen turbo, ported, 18psi actuator, and gaskets $1,842.00

Megan 02 housing $119.99

Corner Balance $150.00

Denso 720cc injectors $399.00

So the total ends up being like $10,007.27. Hopefully this gives you an idea of what you're getting into. This doesn't include little things like alignments and maintence labor that is required to install.

Yes headstuds are needed for 25psi and up.....It was stated that the bottom end would not hold up. Just get a good tune and dont give it hell and youll be ok

I would get the headstuds now...just like the walbro it's necessary when you start getting into higher HP builds...which it looks like this guy may end up doing.

I say get the studs as a safety mod (since you'll be doing cams anyway) and that will be one less thing you have to worry about if you decide to run meth or race gas with higher boost.
