Well my clutch is slipping, and while my father does own a repair shop, Im not sure if I want to get involved with the replacement of it. I have a questions for all of you that have payed for the install or whom have done it themselves.

1. I looked up on Snap-On's Shop Key and it allows 8.7 hours for the installation. Does it really take that long? I do have access to lifts, transmission jacks, tools, professional help....ect.

2.On average how much am I going to pay a transmission specialist to install the clutch. I know the average labor rate for a mechanic is $80.00. If it takes almost 9 hours I dont want to pay 700 bucks to have someone else do it

I had someone do mine. Alex at dogbox did an awesome job for 500 bucks. He's in Howell. I highly recomend him. What clutch you gonna use?

 

I think im going to go with the ACT street. My clutch is only slipping on the Highway for right now, so I have a little time. 500 sounds resonable....I have to start saving though. Anyone else with recomendations in NJ are appriciated!

My dealer asks for $550 for labor with my TC already out.

 

i to am slippin on highway drivin... ...500 is lowest i've heard now so far..where is this guy located///any contact info?? i am really lookin to get one installed within a month.

 

i am so upset ...only about 2 weeks ago, i asked my dealer waht they would charge..they told me 100 bucks and add 50 to resurface flywheel....since they had my trans out already....but back then clutch was fine, and i really didn't have the money at that point nor wanted to pay 550 for a clutch........i get my car back it is runnin good....do a 6k pull ...than bam..slippage

 

And how much did they charge you to remove the TC???
Mine asks $450 already with fluids.

So to change clutch + TC the total cost would be $1000 something seems wrong
