Well, I'm sure nobody will deny the fact that the Camry is the more practical car. He may not have known that he was all crazy before he bought the evo. I too am pretty much insane when it comes to my car. My advice:

Park the Evo and drive it for recreation or racing, or whatever you do with it! Then buy a beater! Best of both worlds. You're going to take a loss on trading the evo, so why not just pay that money for a beater?

I do have OCD when it comes to my cars. I was the same way when I had my '02 wrx. Not so much with my other prior cars; 300zx, Toyota Starlet, s13 silvia...
Thing is, I have a Nissan Versa that me and my fiancee daily drive and she likes the Evo. I just hate leaving the evo parked, exposed to the elements. And don't get me wrong, I love the heck out of this car and do drive it every other day.

So, the newer the car and or the more perceived value you have for the car the stronger and more troublesome your OCD becomes, is that right?

There's a beautiful midnight blue 911 GT3 that is parked on the street every night outside my gf's apartment, msrp $106K. Across the street I also notice almost every night a bright orange Lotus Elise doing the same thing. My point is, there are many more expensive vehicles being parked out on streets across America every night. If you have insurance, then try and worry a little less knowing there are bigger headaches in life than your machine(a very cool and fast machine) to deal with.

BTW, I have driven a few different hybrid models, and the lack of any type of quantifiable soul in them is amazing. If the fiancee likes the Evo, then you should be a happy man Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I can understand the parking and worrying thing. I park far away from other cars and then hope it's not getting messed with. However, I just remind myself that I love driving this car and life is too damn short to be driving something that is not fun. That's how I deal with it.

Well, I went to the toyota dealership last night to get some numbers and their offer is $23,500 or $25,000 after they do an indepth inspection.
Looks like I won't be trading it in anytime soon. Probably get a beater car like someone mentioned or re-awaken my other sickness and start modding the evo.

I think your concerns will carry over to any new car you buy.

Take a key and scratch the evo somewhere its not noticed. You'll know its there then you won't worry so much. Just get that first ding out of the way, then you can be normal.

Actually, the versa is brand new, paid for and I could care less what happens to it.
I got my first and only door ding at Logan's last year, frickin' suv or a truck!
