When I took my bumper off when replacing with the EVO IX and looked at the low power sprayers, I didn't put it back. They didn't look strong enough. +1 on the nos intercooler sprayer.

well i believe that when the fmic is heat soaked the water on the surface cools the intercooler enough to make a difference.

some people say it does make a difference and some dont.

well its a very cheap investment to see for myself. i believe that if it did nothing mitsu and subaru would not waste time and money into a useless system like a sprayer on to their cars

There you go. The water get the IC wet, drip on the ground, you get kick off the track. Also the dirt can get in the fins of the IC and you IC will suffer.

back on the search topic, i agree w/ the guy that said it's really hard to search.... it's true. i'm not new to forums but i am new to EVOm. this forum is so big that just about every topic has been covered and in most cases multiple times. so any time somebody comes on here to do a search it brings up hundreds of results and it alwasy seems to be that the topics have NOHTING to do w/ the topic it hand... that's my .02 from an EVOm newb standpoint.

as long as your not a moran that sprays it while your sitting still for more than a sec before a run while your moving the water mostly evaporates, not like it drips down and makes a puddle or somthing from your undertray piece.

I can't wait to replace mine with an alcohol injection tank, it is pointless.

How is it pointless? Didn't someone in this thread logged his car and proved that it lowered the intake charge substantialy and got rid of two counts of knock. How much more efffective did it have to be to pass the evolutionm test? I have an 05 an I wish it was kept by mitsu but they ran out of real estate under that bumper skin. I autocross my car and on a hot day intake charges rises a lot, having a way to lower air temp or even keep it a reasonable level is a big plus in my book. Being able to avoid knock and stoping the computer from pulling timing and kill power is not exactly what I would call pointless but then again to each their own. For the OP if you can route a line from your washer fluid reservoir it would be beneficial, just make sure you use the rear wiper sender; it might not give you power but it'll prevent you from loosing some to heat soak.

With the sprayer on the temp at the same place starting at the same rpm in the same gear thus same variables was 86.2* and 0 counts of knock. Maybe its just my car but when doing a hwy pull or racing once i get to the top of fourth doing 21psi seems like the stock intercooler is starting to heatsoak thus i started with minimal knock. Once the intercooler sprayer is going it knocked off 6.6* off the intake temps which to me is a huge deal. Every time i start the car or go on the hwy i turn auto spray on for piece of mind as i know for whatever reason it DOES effect if i get knock at high speeds or not.
How did you measure air temp?

If you logged intake air temp from the ECU then you were measuring the temp at the MAF which is before the intercooler and the sprayer. The temp difference you saw was because of something else.. not your intercooler sprayer.

Cool, then that sounds like a valid 6 degrees. I wonder why everyone else says it's useless?

It's all in your head man, the sprayer does nothing. It's there for show and was put on to match subaru's sprayer...mitsu can't be losing a pissing match can they?
