how come they did away with the intercooler sprayer for the 9's ??
that was going to be my question too ... You won't see tempm changes from the stock sensor because it's before the IC. Joos test would be accurate though.
My .02, the sprayer is FAR from useless.
A friend of mine did some tests with a home made IC sprayer on a 1.8t VW. The test was done using a mix of alcohol and water in the sprayer tank ... I don't knwo the ratio used. But, he logged an air temp difference of ~20*C with the mst on the IC.
Now, this was a SMIC which is inherently less efficient than an FMIC and alcohol was used. In comparison, I wouldn't doubt a 10*C temp drop on a stock Evo FMIC with a water/alcohol mix misted on the IC.
If you plan to try this using the windshield sprayer on an '05+, be aware that you will likely have flow issues since the spray nozzle will be lower than the reservoir. Gravity will make them leak. I had this issue on my VW and it made me ditch the project.

so why not have one area of the hosing that goes higher than the sprayer motor prior to it going lower? that way the motor has to push the water upwards through the "hump" and then down to the sprayers... its an idea..
this works when the line is not filled with water. But, when it's full all that matters is the elevation of the line's exit. think of siphoning fuel from a gas tank ... the hose goes up from the tank out of the filler hose and down to the can, but it flows once you get it going.
as long as the track doesnt know about it i wouldnt think it matters. Although you wouldnt really need it until the end of the 1/4 anyway. Like it was mentioned above the hwy is where it really shines.
