a turn down any exhaust and brake shop should be able to make it for you. just get a flange so you can take it on or off. all you need is a 45 degree elbow in what ever size tubing you have and the apropriate flange and you are good. if you are running stock dp i would recomend go 3" because you can get it on and that way if you do up grade the dp to 3" in the future it wont be too small. just my .02

exactly. flange a turndown or simply weld one on the downpipe if this is a permanent setup.

it's really not worth running a straight DP with a cat. you're killing your power bad with the cat, probrably just as bad as having the full exhaust(maybe 1-2 hp). buschur tested open DP vs. full 3" catless exhaust and the gains were neglible, not worth it. for a turndown though, an exhaust shop should be able to fab one up with a flange pretty easily. pointless though IMO with a cat on it.

ya there is really no point in running it like that with the cat. if you are woried about the noise get a RRE Rally Cat (resonated test pipe with cat heat shields), or just a resonated test pipe with a turn down. from what i have been told the RRE unit eliminates almost as much noise as the cat does, and it looks like a cat. plus i think they are making it for the IX's now with the o2 bung in it so you can put your sensor in it with a cell fix, if that is why you are still running the cat.

yes im still running the cat because of the CEL

i made a turndown today and i like the sound of it now, its not really loud like it was without and has a good tone. good thing i put a turndown on because my under coating was melting away because of the exhaust heat. the turn down should stop this right?

buy my 3" testpipe cutout..

it will delete the cat so you get the big power gains yet can still close the cutout and go on a road trip, and open it for the sound you currently have and like!

PM me if your intrested..

is that why my friend who was running his vband tbe put a cutout in the testpipe and was spooling 28 pounds 350rpms faster and the car leaner from more airflow?

dont believe everything a businessman tells you, esp if hes selling it =-)

the turndown was made for the stock dp, but i could easily make one for my 3" dp when i get it. it only cost me about 10 bucks, and it seems to be working very well...

i do notice the turbo spools up pretty quick now, ill have full boost around 2200-2500rpms, with stock exhasut i wasnt hitting full boost until about 2700rpm
