EVO IX Modds?

I have an EVO IX and I have a K&N Typhoon air intake, Greddy Type RS BOV recirculated and a 3 inch downpipe, High Flow Cat, and 3 inch exhaust from AMS. Does anyone have a guess at how much horsepower to the wheels increase would it be from a totally bone stock EVO IX. I am planning on getting my car's ECU flashed at Vishnu in October.

without a flash or tune....not much increase at all

once you get a flash or tune and up the boost a little your looking at about 350 to the crank im guessing

ps. how do you like the ams exhaust?
i might be ordering one tomorrow...good sound?

Your stock BOV was fine, why downgrade to a greddy piece that's a waste of money. An untuned intake will make your car slower than stock. Get the car tuned asap and you'll be set.

+1 not to mention the K&N Typhoon Air intake is NOT RECOMENDED on the EVO!

I agree pretty much with what everyone else said, without the flash you're not gonna see anywhere near what you will see with it. Except on the hp #'s I've seen a lot of dyno numbers between 325-350whp with similar mods and a flash. Next time you should search though this has been answered a number of times

When I had the same mods (tbe w/ no cat, hks rs intake, tbe) I dynoed at 310whp on a dynojet without a tune. With the tune I made over 340awhp. However, you really need to get rid of the typhoon intake

The Typhoon has been proven time and again as one of the worst things you can put on your evo. Robs power and royally screws up airflow... Put your stock dv (aka bov) back on too.

Thanks for all the information I am definitely going to get rid of the Typhoon intake and BOV. Does anyone recommend a good intake or is just using the stock airbox and getting a drop in airfilter is the way to go. I am going to get a Flash from Vishnu in October.

I noticed there are quite a few of you that replied to my thread from the Virginia or Maryland or Pennsylvania. I am going to be moving to either Salisbury or Pokomoke city, Maryland in mid January. Are all season tires good enough for the weather in the winter there?

yup. I use all seasons in the winter (about 2-3 months) and summer tires the rest of the time. You dont get enough snow hear to warrant snow tires

I have 2 sets of rims/tires, Blizzacks (winter tire) on the enkies and the stock yokohamas on the BBS MR wheels. You'll be fine with either all season or snow tires in the winter. I just like being able to not worry about snowy conditions. snow tires +AWD FTW!

I am thinking about buying the yokohama advan S4. I did some research on tirerack.com and they were rated the best. it is very expensive though but probably very nice. I was also wondering what is the best air intake for a stock engine and turbo on an EVO IX?

the only mod i have right now is the BR filter. I'm not tuned yet but it doesn't feel any slower. You definitely can hear the filter sucking in the air like if the car was a jet. It turns heads Also Can hear the stock bov now by a good amount.
