Valentine one or others?
The V1 is the best of the best. Nothing like knowing that the leo's are running radar traps and the V1 will tell you where they are before they see you coming. I have tested and owned all the "Top Radar detectors" and as good as they are all, they just go "Beep" and you still have to guess where the threats are, the V1 lets you know that. Straight line performance is very easy to test but its the around the curve and over the hills that the V1 really shines. The V1 also has rear dedicated antenna and picks up rear threats like no other..Radar and laser. The V1 also has the best laser detection and can be mounted high on the windshield and will pick up a lic. plate laser hit or headlight hit where alot of radar detectors would miss. As good as the V1 is against laser, stil get a high quality laser jammer because if your speeding and you are targeted you will not have enough time to slow down...I know this because this happened to me 3 times in 1 month before got my current laser jammer and havent recieved a radar or laser ticket in 2 years and have been hit by laser at least 20 + times and jammed each one of them. If you dont get a V1, you will get one later but my 2nd favorite RD/LD is the Bel V995 and is very, very close to the V1 in detection but again it doesnt have t he arrows which I love. If you can afford just pull the trigger and you wont reget your purchase.
I can understand why people ask these question and will continue to ask them. Cobra continues to market their radar detectors with false advertising and the worst performing RD just above the RMR's and people who dont know any better continue to buy those products. It took me about $3000 (low quality,med quality and the Top 3) in RD's to finally get my 1st V1.
