Ive never seen it in stores, but I have the Beltronics Rx65 and I really like it, its better than the Escort Passport 8500whatever. From what Ive read, the only thing the V1 has on the competition is that it tells you where the radar is coming from (kinda..). Id save money and get an escort or the Beltronics.

Please do not get ANYTHING other than a Valentine One. It is the best from my years of experience with tons of radars. I've had everything from a crappy Cobra, to Passport 8500 and V1. The V1 is the only one I trust, and the only one I have not been pulled over with. A couple of weeks ago I got pulled over when I had my Passport 8500 in my Evo. It cannot detect the cop if hes behind you, while the V1 can. I sold that thing for $150 the SAME day. Now I only use the V1 in all of my cars. There is nothing better, and it is worth every penny of that $400.

Good luck with the new detector... but if you ever use a V1 with the arrows, you'll never go back

A plus the arrows are more useful than anyone that doesent have one ,thinks .the V1 is the bomb , it has other manufactors scrambling, gps come on , they are really reaching

Escort can detect signal from the back definetly, it sounds more like installer error. i detect from the rear ALL the time.

Plenty of threads on this BUT....

I love the 8500 x50. The valentine looks so stale. The arrows are nice but its not really fresh technology. I'm not sure the 9500i has been around long enough to be considered in the same boat as the x50 or V1, but I'm sure its still an awesome product.

Also, POP detection was almost worthless to me. Alot of false positives and nobody uses it. You're pretty screwed anyway if you even detect it.

Yup, you're in the same boat as laser if you're hit with POP... you're done. I'm keen on the V1's looks... I think it looks cool as hell mounted on your windshield or sun visor. I will admit that the Escort detectors are much sleeker looking... I just love my V1
