Help. I need to plug my EGT tap.

We tapped with 1/8NPT. What do I need to buy to plug the hold in my manifold? Thanks. A link would be great.

This should be obvious..... but you need to go to the hardware store and buy a 1/8" NPT Pipe plug.... all pipe plugs should be NPT thread (tapered).

Home Depot and lowe's don't carry below 1/4" so you need to try ace or maybe tractor supply, or something like that...... 1/8" is used for hydraulics so there may be some place around that has supplies like that.

Other option is to find a piping supply store.

Make sure you use anti-seize especially with stainless steel. Although, carbon steel plug should be fine.

Here's a link to a cheap one.... took 2 sec on google.... I'd make sure whatever plug you buy is solid(machined), not hollow (cast), i'm sure you can find local though.

Plug

They have brass ones at Lowes in the plumbing section. It took me a while, but I found them.

This is part of the fitting on the EGT probe. . . this is called a nipple i guess? 1/8NPT with a male connector... what size would you say?

I got the right size plug but it doesn't seem to want to go into the manifold. Do I need to tap the manifold again?

I had some trouble doing the same thing and finding all of the parts. I would retap the manifold if you can and make sure to go all the way to the top of the tap if you can. And make sure it's not BPT. It's a difference of like 1 thread. One has 23 and one has 24 or somewhere around there.
