Breaking in an Evo

I've tried searching for this subject on the forums, and well... I came up with nothing really associated with it. So the question is, how should I break in my brand new Evo (5 miles on the odometer). I mean, I don't want to break it in too soft because the piston ring seal to not seal well. So does anyone have a recipe for the best break-in procedure?

Because I'm sure people will be asking... Its a Tarmac Black SE.

Thanks!

don't drive it like a granny. take the RPM's up some. it will be better for beating on later in the future. i think David Buschur said something like this, "if you break her in soft, she'll only like it soft. if you break her in hard, she'll like it hard."

don't use that ****y Mobile 1 oil either.. Use something like AMS oil or Motul.. Slight bit more pricey but best for your car.

don't always search just evom.net for your question (though it will answer almost any), check google sometimes.

i read this page before i bought my 05 RS and my base dyno was 263 awhp on a Dynojet at ISP Racing. Not saying it's only because of how i broke my car in but everyone who was their that dyno day was suprised as we as myself. good food for thought!

check it out here. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm READ EVERYTHING!

i'm going to second that. READ EVERYTHING. conventional oil, throttle full open accel, throttle full closed decel, many many times. i dyno'd at 262awhp when the average 9 dyno'd at 255awhp on that particular dyno. no oil consumption problems. i get >27mpg (though that's primarily due to the vishnu tune). just my experience.
