washing car often, is it bad?
well i have an 06 TB and u know how hard it is to keep black clean, i live in the city so the car gets dusty and dirty within a few days. i hand wash my car at least once a weak and sometimes twice. im starting to think the black looks sorta dull, it looks like light black, not dark at all. some dude with a 03 TB said my car didnt even look TB he said the black look kinda light. am i messing up the paint job? how else am i suppose to keep the TB clean if i dont wash it?

My other car is black and its hard to keep clean one thing Ive found is using a California Car Duster or equivalent. You wont have to wash so much. Also when you wash a car you are only washing the clear coat, which is usually about 3 layers worth. Use a white rag to check and see if black paint is rubbing off while drying. If your rags are black when drying you may be down to the color coat.
your not hurting your car by washing it "too often" but you do need to make sure keep up on maintaining your paint correctly by clay barring, polishing, sealing, waxing, etc... in order to get that deep color you want.

You actually can hurt your paint by washing it "too often." The main reason for marring and swirls is improper methods of washing your car. Think about it. When you wash your car. Your physically scrubbing off the dirt thats laden on the vehicle. Proper washing techniques go a long way. Having a very durable surface on top of your clear coat (sealant or wax) also helps prevent the scratching.
I would give it a good detail (wash, clay, polish, wax) every few months instead of washing it once a week
And make sure your cloths are really clean before applying any of them onto your vehicle. The tiniest particles can cause even more swirls/scratches in your paint.

If you wash your car once a week, I would suggest putting wax on twice a month. Every three months, you would want to properly put wax on. The one that needs to be left on for 3 hours and hand buffed

If so, you have way more problems than a dirty evo.

dont wash your whip more than once a week and definetly don't go to those pull-in car washes with the foaming brush they will just destroy your paint in a heartbeat
once a week bucket wash, hand dry, wax every three months

Wax atleast twice a month. If the caranauba content is pretty low then you're going to have to. Every three months is WAY too spread out. Even royale users don't do 3 months.
