Exclamation need some help

okay.. my evo 8 MR got impounded a year ago... the saddest part was the thought it was a regular [fwd] lancer, thus dragging it with the rear wheels on the ground for a while.....at highway speeds. the only thing i know for sure is the way they towed it. but the clutch kit had to be completly replaced when i picked it up a few days later, besides the transfer case.

my question is....

what could towing it with the rear wheels on the ground really do.... i believe the whole suspension's been replaced, i know the rear has but not sure.

also is anyone having problems that feel as if the car is hickopping??

Towing it with the rear down only would kill the viscous coupling. Now, that's what would happen in DSMs, but I'm not sure if Evos have the same part or some other similar part. The problem with killing the viscous coupling is that it's not obvious for the most part unless you take the trans apart.

The suspension is not related in this case.

What is "hickopping"? Did you mean "hiccuping"? I'm sure people have felt that, but you need to be way more specific. Are you referring to the transmission bouncing/jerking, or the engine doing it when boosting or something? Sounds like that car is probably not worth owning, imo.

Are you sure its not a misfire?

How in gods name can you NOT know you had an evo? You thought it was a fwd lancer? ROFL

the tow truck driver apparently thought it was a fwd lancer... and btw y'd it get impounded.

and btw research viscous coupling. if warr is saying that it might be a problem, before you say you dont' know what it is... go look it up or check before you look for more answers. just my 2 cents

yea id say deff the brakes some how...could the heat produced by the transfercaser malfunction, cause anything to malfunction.... could the heat burn out the clutch kit?? serisouly 12K spent on pretty much the suspension, and everyone says its race ready, but there is this long lasting shake above 55mph and a weird hiccup that says other wise, im not a gear head, but i know an evo 8 mr is NOT suppose to act like this.....

plz help...
