New to the EVO
When I dropped in the walbro into my rsx it was pretty easy. How is it on the EVO? One thing I dont want to do is make the exhaust obnoxious or droning. The RSX had custom 3 inch stainless turboback that is catless. It was extremely loud and extremely obnoxious. It was fine at first, but as I started driving the car as more of a daily driver when my nissan went down for the count, it wore on me fast.
How is the exhaust note for a turboback on the EVOs?
Also, I'll definately throw a boost gauge, EGT gauge and most likely an oil pressure guage in shortly. The positioning of the stock gauges aren't functional at all. Theres no way you can look away from the road and keep track of any of them while driving.
The main thing is that I'm really looking forward to working on the car again. I did all my work on the last car, I plan on doing the same for this. I'll be doing a lot of research to get intimate with the car, as i'm only vaguely familiar with the 4g63, as it's been a staple for a long time.

The exhaust note it all depends on the exhaust you go with. With the EVOs, they have nice quiet tone at idle but when you go at WOT it screams but it isn't too bad, it is actually quite a nice roar.
TurboXS makes a decent exhaust that was rated only 2db over stock. Not sure if that was with or without a hfc.
While a hfc is a restriction, it does help with the noise. You can accomplish the same thing with silencers, but at least with the cat it your car won't stink out the guys behind you or attack the cops.

I got the MR for 36 flat. I can't wait to start ordering parts in the next week or so. Need to make sure I do enough research first in order to decide on what I want to go with and where to start.

am new to this forms and all i just have one question and i didn,t know where to post that so am posting here hopefully no one get mad. i am haveing some problems with my evo 9 se, wheneven i get on it oil light comes on i means it comes on when i stop it actually blinks and when i rev up couple times i goes away, i don,t whts going on with it if some one can plz help me with it

I suggest these mods:
fuel pump
turbo back exhaust
manual boost controller
boost gauge
air filter
and when you're done, let me tune it to extract the power, the stock tune is horrible. I have a link in my sig that explains the process, tools required and a I even made a video tutorial to explain the software
